My self-summary
I'm from Georgia. I live in South Philly. I've been working downtown in a rehab hospital as an Occupational Therapist for a little while and it feels very different from what I used to do, which is teach poetry and writing around the city as an adjunct at whatever random colleges would hire me for the semester. When I got tired of hustling for what little money I could get and never knowing what was coming next, I helped start a union at one of the schools where I was working. That's also when I went back to school to study Occupational Therapy. But I still write poems. Sometimes I get my patients to write poems with me. And I'm still trying to teach poetry and writing whenever I can.

I ask a lot of questions. I make weird decisions at jukeboxes.
What I’m doing with my life
Billing for Medicare.

Writing poems about billing for Medicare.

Trying to help people learn to walk and talk and eat again.
I’m really good at
Telling you it's gonna be ok.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm totally a caregiver.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like a lot of stuff. Bernadette Mayer, Nina Simone, Eva Hesse, Jason Molina, Spiritualized, Marguerite Duras, Mitsuko Uchida, Alice Notley, Alice Coltrane, Robert Wyatt, Jasper Johns, Arthur Russell, Amiri Baraka, Lauryn Hill, Yuja Wang, Kara Walker, Emmylou Harris, Karen Dalton.

Also all the food. And TV. And really, if you're into it, I'll probably be down as well, cause I like new stuff too.
Six things I could never do without
Having a lot of books and somehow managing to move them into whatever apartment I'm living in at the time, even if it seems insane. I've done that six times.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Getting pissed off at the system, putting people first.
On a typical Friday night I am
I go out a lot. Concerts, bars, dancing, friends, O anything really.
You should message me if
You're a leftist. You're a person who is a fan of other people, like, in a general sense. Cause I am too. You're still figuring it out, but you might have some stuff already figured. You write for the movies. You can drink me under the table. You just want to talk and are looking for a new friend. I don't know. No reason not to.
