My self-summary
A well meaning Texan, now Californian, who has a genuine thirst for life & the finer things that make it up. I feel life is way too short to not try to really experience and enjoy it. I try to be open minded about things so I don't have a long list of deal breakers like so many profiles I've noticed. Generally an optimist and a positive outlook on life.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to enjoy it best I can while hopefully giving back to society in some meaningful way. I have a law degree and am licensed in two states but I've spent most of the last decade focusing on securities, commercial real estate and high tech. Love to travel domestically and internationally but haven't done so as much lately - looking for the right travel partner. Interested ?
I’m really good at
knowing a lot about (rock) music, current events, financial topics, sports, history, geography and general knowledge - in other words, I kick ass in Trivial Pursuit. Any challengers ?
The first things people usually notice about me
I am usually pretty friendly and open and can hold my own on a lot of topics. Upbeat and in a good mood most of the time and generally a positive and outgoing personality.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
R.E.M., Beatles, Stones, Incubus, Rage Against the Machine, My Chemical Romance, Sublime, Cake, Linkin Park, Rise Against, The Killers, Muse, Eagles, Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Jackson Browne, Yes, Pink Floyd, Badfinger, Steely Dan, Grateful Dead, Cream, Traffic, The Who, The Byrds, CSN & Y, the Boss.

The Imitation Game, Gangs of New York, The Game, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Marathon Man, Annie Hall, Last of the Mohicans, Radio Days, Catch 22, The Graduate, The Life of Brian, A Fish called Wanda, Defending Your Life.

Timeless, Designated Survivor, Person of Interest, Two and a Half Men.

Most kinds of food esp. Italian, French, Mexican, New Mexican (meaning Santa Fe style) , Texas BBQ, Indian, Thai and Vietnamese.
Six things I could never do without
Music, sunshine, friends, knowledge, good food and last but not least, women. Oh yeah - Caller ID.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The subtleties of life, the fine lines and the grey areas.
On a typical Friday night I am
No one thing - having drinks and/or dinner with friends or listening to live music; or if in a relationship, spending quality time doing something we both want to do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I don't have room in my life for those who regularly drain your energy. For others see the questions here re sex - there's plenty of privacy busters there :-)
You should message me if
You like to laugh and have fun and you appreciate someone who tries to keep an open mind and see things from the other person's perspective. I may not be into EVERYTHING you are into but I am willing to try them. Hope I at least get points for that.
