My self-summary
i don't believe in these sites. hiding behind a screen trying to portray ones ideal image of themselves through carefully chosen pictures and witty yet cliche words is contributing to the demise of face to face social connection, allowing too much room for judgement, and generally lowering ones self esteem by comparing themselves to others. having said that, i am from seattle and am trying to meet people in a new town so here i am. i am here to make an attempt at making real, meaningful, and interesting connections.

i taught preschool and nannied for 14 years and am now venturing on to new things. i love working with kids, but i also like travelling and moving around. i like leaving my comfort zone and challenging myself. so, i went to austin (i have a long standing love affair with austin) to work with a friend for a bit. then i bought a car and took a road trip to california via the grand canyon. now... i am in arcata hoping to wind up on a farm in the country somewhere. in the meantime, my current occupation is living on the road!!!

i enjoy being outdoors and having good conversations. my friends would say i am open, honest, and free spirited. i love to travel and try to get away from home at least once a month (currently living that dream). Sometimes it's a big trip and sometimes it's a weekend getaway to the mountains or the ocean.

this life, for me, is about connecting with people and learning about life from experiences good, bad, and everything in between.

i have been with my boyfriend YourUnknown for 8+ years. together we are practicing polyamory. we are very happy and committed to each other. that doesn't restrict us from being happy and connected with other people as well.

i am a pescavegan (i made that up and it's a slow transition in), humanitarian, feminist, bernie lover, the best parallel parker in town, can play euchre pretty well, and always appreciate the sight of mt. rainier. i believe that success in life has nothing to do with monetary value and everything to do with value of experience.

to thine own self be true (i recently learned that this quote is written on the back of sobriety coins... this is not why i like it)
What I’m doing with my life
making mistakes and learning beautiful lessons, growing as a person and a member of the human race, trying to make the world a better place for kids, and generally enjoying life.
I’m really good at
understanding people, parallel parking, picking the right time to be stubborn and the right time not to be, working under pressure, and communicating.
The first things people usually notice about me
i don't know, probably something superficial
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
i have been on a crazy reading binge lately. i am a tom robbins fan through and through. i just finished reading david sedaris' short stories and sarah waters' tipping the velvet, as well as american gods by neil gaiman. i am about to start reading the gift of little things by alice saviah hutchens (my great great gramma). i have a habit of going to the bargain tables at book stores and picking up random novels. i also appreciate good children's literature. (charlotte's web makes me cry every time)

i try not to watch tv too much but netflix is killing it right now and i am struggling to resist...

i listen to classic rock (preferably on vinyl) though i am trying hard to keep up with modern music. i have been dabbling in some indie rock and folk music recently. currently i am loving cloud cult and mike love.
The six things I could never do without
freedom from my own fears, the constant death of my ego, music that touches the soul, mountains that make me feel tiny, books of all kinds, and friends that love unconditionally
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my next adventure, travel, hikes, building igloos, what it means to be a good person, and where to draw the line when it comes to taking care of others so i can take care of me, what the world would be like if the communal mentality and free love of the '60's were to combine forces with the current collective consciousness to create a new peaceful culture.
On a typical Friday night I am
i don't believe in being typical and i just moved to a new town. so even if there is a typical friday night i don't know what it is yet. also, i prefer saturdays for doing fun stuff...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
the only bra i own is from a halloween costume many years ago....
You should message me if
you are human
