My self-summary
Love to laugh. Not shy about doing it loudly. 😄 Often accompanied by sass and uncontrollable nerdiness. I make great crêpes, and I'm looking for someone to consume them with me. I think dependability and willingness to take initiative are especially attractive. I enjoy people who can converse like verbal ping pong players.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach ESL (with a bit of social justice when possible) to high school students, which I love, and I train future/new educators on the side. In the future, I would like to pursue a PhD and do research in first and second language acquisition, or gender and language. In my free time, I read the menus of enticing restaurants and reminisce about the days when I had the time to run five times a week.
I’m really good at
being a loyal friend! I've also got a knack for navigating cities, reading maps, and creating travel itineraries.
The first things people usually notice about me
What I lack in height, I make up for in opinions.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Little Prince; The Lord of the Rings; Owen (childhood favorite!)
In general, I prefer to read non-fiction.

Shows: The Good Wife; How I Met Your Mother; Friends; Veronica Mars; Alias; Gilmore Girls

Music: a mix... my iPod has some Joshua Radin, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Timbaland, Taylor Swift, Adele, Florence and the Machine, Glee, Matt & Kim, Mumford & Sons, Christophe Maé, Lady Gaga, Of Monsters and Men, Sylvan Esso, The XX, Mr. Hudson, and others

Food: almost anything, with the exception of cilantro and dim sum
Six things I could never do without
my passport
my friends
my computer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
traveling, food, my friends, lesson plans
On a typical Friday night I am
enjoying dinner and/or drinks with friends, when I don't have much work. Otherwise, I'm being a superwoman lesson planner or draining the world of its supply of red pens.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't want to have kids. I love being a teacher, and I'm also happy to be aunt to my friends' kids. But at the end of the day, raising my own kids is not for me.
You should message me if can make me laugh! And you're charming yet loyal, empathetic, and treat people well. You deal with conflict in a mature and rational manner.

...we mutually like each other!

For me, it's not an automatic disqualification if the effort you spend composing your message is equivalent to the same amount of effort you spend blinking. However, if that's the case, I expect you to have a pretty impressive profile to compensate. Because seriously, when was the last time you laughed from reading a generic "hey" or "hey what's up" message?
