My self-summary
Protagonist, solipsist, and pirate philosopher bohemian secret agent feminist in training, on a mission to rescue people from the wholesome clutches of the pious backstabbing girl Fridays of the world. (not really)

I'd say I'm really into science and the arts and humanities. I love travel. I love intellectual things. I love humor and take barely anything seriously. I am now lifting weights all the time (again). I'm about as non-religious as you can get, but I grew out of my Richard Dawkins phase a while ago. I live for new experiences. My favorite color is orange.

You'll enjoy this one:
What I’m doing with my life
I do research in philosophy of science (neuroscience & psychology). It's super competitive, this kind of work, so I work pretty hard. ~I've been published~. I almost did a Masters in Women's Studies instead.

In my so-called free time I like to travel and do things impulsively (see: the personality tab). I went to Hungary a couple months ago, looking forward to Montpellier the next summer. Another strategically placed academic conference, funded by Your Tax Dollars... I'd like to spend some more time in eastern Europe, and non-Europe.

Also this:
I just moved here from Canada. Yep, they call Mac & Cheese "Kraft Dinner" up there. I'm "outdoorsy" and say "toque." I appear super polite by American standards.

edit: Now I've been here awhile. Not gonna update mah stuffs though.
I’m really good at
blurting things out.

...And python 2.7.2 ;_;
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm either very loud or very quiet or not paying attention or smiling suspiciously or offensively (apparently).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books. I read lots of non-fiction. Lots of philosophy and science. If Michel Foucault, or Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex ring any bells, we will probably get along quite well. If not, also probably. I get along with everyone.

Movies. Incendies, La Haine, Averroes (really boring), District 9, I don't know. Sex and Lucia. I miss black-and-white foreign film nights. Shows. Childrens Hospital. The Office, a while ago. I don't really watch TV any more, there is no time. (except for Colbert, my hero.) I watched Breaking Bad though. Music. chiptunes.

Food. I like to try new foods. Indian food is my favorite kind, but who's counting really. If spicy is an option, I usually get it too spicy, and no I do not regret it, ever. Freud can tell you more about what that means, and my dreams about bears. I could easily go vegetarian again.

For food and anything else, my attitude is to try to enjoy or find pleasure in it. Enjoyment is a skill, after all.
Six things I could never do without

- creativity
I spend a lot of time thinking about

I do much wonder that one man, seeing how much another man is a fool when he dedicates his behaviors to love, will, after he hath laughed at such shallow follies in others, become the argument of his own scorn by falling in love: and such a man is Claudio.
On a typical Friday night I am
Writing, reading, drinking and talking about philosophy, or not about philosophy, or not exactly talking, with new people, or catching up on sleep or trying to.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My dark and secret past: I don't look like it, but I was a high school goth. Yep, my formative years. Spiked collars, black everything, David Bowie, Tim Burton, Anne Rice and Rocky Horror, and a matching attitude to go with it. There are some interesting pictures of me forever preserved somewhere on the internet.

Confession #2: I was also a pro video game player. Cool right? I had sponsors and got flown a few places though, and had fans. I know what it's like to resent small talk from strangers because of the inevitable request to join or do something. Also got some sweet level 60 world firsts in World of Warcraft.
You should message me if
You've got gusto.
