My self-summary
I'm looking for a fling - that will last the rest of my life. :-) I'm happy with my life - I've achieved some of my goals and some will always be a work in progress. But I am missing someone to create meals with, host dinner parties, travel together and create memories. I'm looking for the tall, smart, confident guy who cherishes being attentive to a smart, articulate woman. I don't keep up with the latest TV shows or buy clothes based on the label - I listen to NPR and wear classic styles.
What I’m doing with my life
After moving from Palo Alto to RWC and completing a major remodel on my new home I became "single mom" to my 15 year old niece from Pennsylvania for a year. I've really enjoyed guiding her and I will miss her.

Now I have "empty next" syndrome. And I'm also looking forward to switching my focus away from parenting to finding a life partner. I have a small business that I love. I'm getting involved in the Unitarian church. Hiking with friends. Looking forward to new connections.
I’m really good at
Helping people improve their health and well being. Being concise - cutting through the extraneous. Preparing fresh, yummy, healthy food. Ballroom dance. Connecting people with new ideas. Getting to the heart of the matter. Planning travel.
The first things people usually notice about me
Tall, blonde. That I look like Jodie Foster.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Thomas Crowne Affair (Pierce Brosnan), Goodwill Hunting, American Beauty, As Good as it Gets, Philadelphia Story (or any movie with Cary Grant.

Foreign Films: Not ALL movies with a subtitle but I loved Amelie, Eat Drink Man Woman, Loved You so Long, After the Wedding, The Fast Runner, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Monsoon Wedding, Shall we Dance?

Restaurants: anything that features local, organic. Otherwise Thai, Indian, Chinese

Radio: KDFC (so glad they're back), NPR, KFOG

iTunes:eclectic - Ottmar Liebert, REM, Joan Osborne, Crash Test Dummies, Edith Piaf, Nenah Cherry, Eric Clapton, Jai Uttal, Laurie Anderson, Placido Domingo, Thievery Corporation

Books: anything by Malcolm Gladwell or Michael Pollan, anything by Barbara Kingsolver except Poisonwood Bible
The six things I could never do without
The night sky. Long, hot showers.
Friends that "get me". Music. Learning new ideas.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Planning my new garden beds.
On a typical Friday night I am
For the past years my Fridays have revolved around teen life which has been great. Now it's dinner with friends, a movie, curling up with a good book or a performance at Stanford Lively Arts.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a fan of bacon :-) (as long as it's humanely raised)
And I enjoy the occasional opera.
You should message me if
You're tall (at least 5' 11"), intelligent, enjoy deep conversations but also have a lighter side. You're passionate about something in your life - whether your work or a volunteer project. You're looking for a long-term relationship.
