My self-summary
I'm not here looking to hook up, but if you buy me dinner first then maybe. I moved here in Fall 2012 from upstate NY, but I was born a Masshole. I haven't lost my East Coast swagger, but I am generally a nice guy. I've always been something of a mountain man, hiking and climbing all over the US in all seasons. I spent the night out in the Adirondacks when it was -10F, so I can definitely keep you warm.

Basically, I'm like MacGyver. I'm trained as an engineer, but I can change your oil, rescue you from a crevasse and fix a flat. I know the difference between Jackson Pollock and Michael Jackson. Generally speaking, I have mad skilz in the kitchen, I make a great risotto, excellent butternut squash lasagna and really good lentil soup. I probably should have been a chef, but who wants to work on the weekends?

I stay active, yoga, running, biking, hiking, skiing, climbing, basically whatever is in season. Just got an alpine touring setup too, totally stoked about that. I'm really interested in meeting someone who maintains an active lifestyle. I don't stay in shape to stay in shape, but rather so I'm always up for anything. I do enjoy racing bikes as a diversion though.

I believe in continuously learning and expanding your horizons, so I'm always interested in learning about a new viewpoint. Some people say I'm condescending. That means I talk down to them, but I think that's just because I'm tall.

I'm an INTJ. I like to joke around and I'm generally the ironic/sarcastic type (at this point you either think this is funny or I sound like a douche), so maybe you don't get it. I don't take anything too seriously, but I can be intense.

As far as meeting people, it seems like I've always been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now I'm in Corvallis, so maybe it just seems like the wrong place, but it is actually really nice here.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to learn something new every day, which involves doing a lot of reading for work and also for pleasure. Learning to be a great communicator and build better connections. I've had a cat for the past two months and its a little bastard, but it is teaching me about compassion for another being. It's just part of learning something new about others and myself.
I’m really good at
Riding bikes and running
Cooking (not baking)
Climbing (ladders, rocks, stairs, mountains)
Noticing the little things
Assembling furniture from IKEA.
Trivia and any kind of word games

You should message me if
You are curious about life and love trying something new, a new recipe, a new beer, new band, new hike, new museum. If you would like to team up for Pole, Pedal, Paddle. If you want to go to trivia night. If you would consider doing the Enchantments loop as a day hike.
