My self-summary
Like many (all?) people, I love to laugh. I also love to sing to myself. One of the more exciting recent developments in my life is that I'm learning to play the piano. I am rarely content with how much I know and understand. This makes me a bit restless most of the time, but I can relax wonderfully at random times. I study physical chemistry in graduate school. I'm from a small town in northeast Texas, and I moved to Austin about four years ago. Many people on here include their Meyers-Brigg personality type result. Mine is INTP.
What I’m doing with my life
Workwise, I used to work in analytical chemistry, but I made a recent, radical switch to HVAC. In my spare time, I'm working on Spanish, piano and music theory, and billiards.

I'm also trying not to dislike anyone. Usually, my dislike of a person results from ignorance, jealousy, stupidity, or a combination of the three. Lately, I've been trying to listen to people better. It's easy and lazy and typical to just listen to people in a half assed way, but really listening to people is the better way to go about it.

I think that above all, I'm getting to know myself. I'm trying to laugh and smile as much as I can.
I’m really good at
getting distracted. Not oversimplifying things. I was a good student, and I sing certain things well.
The first things people usually notice about me
I ask lots of questions and tend to talk a lot one on one. I probably wouldn't be noticed in a large group of people as I tend to clam up when many people are throwing the conversational ball randomly hither and thither.

Six things I could never do without
Never do without is strong wording, but I like school (science and math specifically), video games, music, foreign languages, movies, and juice. A bright beautiful full moon in a clear cold winter sky is probably a necessity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how difficult good songwriting must be.

Also, when will we stop being so sensitive and getting offended by everything? 2015 was a popular year to be offended.
