My self-summary
What I’m doing with my life
Just finished a stint on an organic cattle ranch / chicken farm. Now I work organizing farmers, supporting those who feed us by helping to build collaboration. Otherwise: learning to live collectively, exploring Northern Cali and laughing behind a guitar.
I’m really good at
reconnecting the rural and urban, telling long epic stories, going along for the ride, writing songs about chickens and sheep.
The first things people usually notice about me
my surroundings. I tend to end up in beautiful places.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Recovering bibliophile. Lapsing lately, though. Books about the food system more these days than novels. But winter is coming.

Mamon of the Spring.

Food: always tastes better if it comes with a good story.

Best show I've seen lately: the California Honey Drops.
Six things I could never do without
food grown by folks I know
other musicians
a big crowded kitchen table
leatherman knife/tool
new people
old friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
better ways to live and work together, how to reconcile the farmer's early dawn with the musician's night, human relationships and the capability for creativity. What's for dinner.
On a typical Friday night I am
having a beer at the farmers market or playing a show with my band.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
that I consider myself a seriously pragmatic and whimsical man
You should message me if
you want to trade cool things: show me your favorite place and I'll bring you to mine. I'm all for pen pals but not so much for communicating on this website. Would rather chat in person over a coffee or a beer in town.
