My self-summary
Honestly? I'm older than I'd like to be but still young in my head and hoping for a more rational, compassionate world. We need more irreverence, art and creativity and much less greed and bigotry. I like to laugh, make music, learn stuff, live within my means and avoid actually doing things as long as possible! One man's laziness is another man's energy conservation....
What I’m doing with my life
I was married for 17 years, have an adult son and a subsequent 8-year expired relationship and am now living on my own. I enjoy the autonomy but not all of the silence of my situation. I had a profitable career in IT so don't need to work, but I should really do more with my time....
I've done a fair amount of travelling and seen some great sights but I'm now feeling guilty about the damage my plane journeys have inflicted on the planet. The right person might make me reconsider.
I’m really good at
Noodling on the guitar; computery stuff; implementing others' ideas; letting friends drift away. I have been told that my musical fingers are quite talented when used on other instruments.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, I'm not sure. Quiet, unless enthused. Cynical but sincere. Knowledgeable (a pub quiz observation).

I spend a lot of time thinking about
What would make people believe in facts in preference to stories, so that the human race might take responsibility for the corrupt mess we've created. (I do, honest!)
On a typical Friday night I am
Sat on my own watching comedy, a documentary or music on TV.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I rarely drink and prefer to get pleasantly stoned instead.
You should message me if
You are honest about who you are and appreciate me being honest about who I am.
You are looking for a lover, not just a friend.
