My self-summary
I've lived in Minnesota all my life. I grew up in a bad part of Minneapolis with my twin brother and single Mom. I attended Augsburg College and then married my high school sweetheart and we were together till her passing 32 years later. After that, life took me on a few paths that had some challenging twists and turns and only now have I reached a clearing where I truly see blue sky and a great desire to pursue my plans and goals for my future. I've worked for two fortune five hundred companies as well as starting my own small landscaping business 20 years ago. Im a very positive, honest and trustworthy person. I enjoy variety and change in day to day life, a flaming romantic and would love to share the rest of my life with someone very special to me..
What I’m doing with my life
Currently reorganizing my landscaping business and hope the upcoming economy will assist me in my business goals for 2014. I Work out at the gym about five times a week, hate going but feel great when I'm done. Shopping for a new camera to start my love of photography again. Enjoy going out to dinner to new restaurants I have yet to try. Love to sing and slow dance at local kareoke dive bars once and a while. Also, my son just signed me up for broomball...good God.
I’m really good at
Landscaping. We did alot of the Parade of Homes model locations over the years. I love music and sing pretty love ballads...not the old twangy stuff. lol. Enjoy writing short stories mixing non-fiction and fiction to add a bit more color to the plots. Wish I had more time for photography, have captured some great moments over the years. Interior design..something I may persue more once I'm worn out from landscaping.
The first things people usually notice about me
I usually have a smile on my face and I'm told a confident way I carry myself in large and small crowds.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite book would be "To Kill A Mocking Bird". My favorite movie "Bridges Of Madison County". On T.V., mostly cable news or old reruns to just get me laughing. I like Jazz, Celtic a bit but mostly country music... Garth, Allen Jackson, Clint Black, Sawyer Brown, Zak Brown and George Strait. Food...Mexican, pizza and all American mashed potatoes and gravy, Jucy Lucies and don't get me started on cheesecake. My favorite Restaurant is W.A. Frost's in St. Paul rated no.1 in the Twin Cities for outside dining...on a warm summer night with the lights strung throughout the tree tops like a canopy over you it's almost mystical looking and quite romantic to say the least.
Six things I could never do without
I have two wonderful adult children and a lovely granddaughter, does that count as 3? Hate th cell phone, hate th internet, hmmm.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where I've been, and now, where I'm going..and with who.
On a typical Friday night I am
Lately, at home painting my living room. Prior to that, out a few nights a month for either a nice dinner or pullin on my faded Levi's, white tee shirt n boots and finding the local kareoke dive bar for some singing and a few slow dances..I'm a two drink per evening out kinda guy by the way. Jack & coke in a short glass...not as easy to tip and fewer trips to the bathroom.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Here? nothing. To my significant other...the possibilities and list could be endless.
You should message me if'd like flowers sent to you for no reason other than being the person you are, or would like to maybe sleep together under the stars in our front yard on a hot summer night and in the morning, have our neighbors wishing it had been them. Message me if you'd like to be at a party together sometime and from across the room, with just a glance, we can connect so easily as to what the other is thinking... or maybe letting me wash your hair in a warm steamy shower at times or to hold the door for you even when no one is looking. To maybe sleep in my old tee shirts at night when I'm away. Someone to gently wipe the tears from your eyes after a sad movie has ended or to pull up the covers for you when your sleeping so you don't get cold in the night. Or maybe our first cup of coffee together out on the front porch during a rare morning thunderstorm. To share a carton of ice cream together in bed with just one spoon n a good classic movie. Or to come up behind you for no reason other than desire, and gently lift the hair from the back of your neck and slowly kiss you there and listen to you breath. If you want someone to be there for you, if only to be held a bit and assure you everything will be ok..message me.
