My self-summary
I value physical activity, traveling and road tripping, museum exhibit hopping, catching my favorite bands when they pass through, photography and alternative process workshops, and seeking adventures in and out of DC. Some trips I am currently planning include hiking the 40-mile MD portion of the AT, camping, hiking, photographing my way around the Finger Lakes, taking a road trip to abandoned coal mining towns in WV.

I'm a friend of the earth and take recycling and sustainability seriously. Can you help me get started with some tips on composting? Growing up in West Virginia contributed to my love of the outdoors and when I've got good company to share it with, I'm always up for hiking, backpacking, camping, and kayaking.
What I’m doing with my life
Putting my BFA to good use by combining photography and a fondness of history working for the Fed. Through my work, I have met and been hugged by Annie Leibovitz, handled documents containing Abraham Lincoln's signature more times than I can recall, and spent some quality time doing the preservation photography for the 1297 Magna Carta.

I often think about going back to school for a graduate degree, but at this point in my life, actually living my life holds a greater importance. On the weekends, I might be checking out the new weekly beers at Adroit Theory, knocking out local hikes like Loudoun Heights or Raven Rocks, wandering around and photographing in a beautiful, historic cemetery like Oak Hill or Rock Creek, or kayaking down Antietam Creek.
I’m really good at
Photography; especially black and white and alternative photography. I like to relinquish control by photographing with toy cameras and love the surprises newly developed film brings. Gum bichromate printing is my new favorite alternative process, but I'm looking into trying out some different historic process workshops.

Planning activities that involve with exercise, natural wonders, roadside curiosities, history, delicious beers, and plenty of laughs.

Remembering faces and names.

Helping turtles off busy roads.
The first things people usually notice about me
My kindness, thoughtfulness, and appreciation of life's minute, yet beautiful details. I would like to make you cupcakes even though I openly admit I'm no baker. Not fan of cupcakes? How about Bourbon popcorn or beer candied bacon?

The six things I could never do without
Cameras
A catchy song stuck in my head
My beat-up water bottle
Hiking boots all laced up
An unrelenting sense of curiosity and wonder
Snuggles from my cat Oliver
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why some people only come into our lives for a short time, while others come into our lives to remain.

Something best said by Anselm Kiefer..."In boredom you are at the base of existence. You don't experience yourself when you're not bored".
On a typical Friday night I am
When the weather is nice, I check out the local farmer's market and art vendor tables. Then take it easy by cooking a nice dinner before catching a movie and enjoying a couple of drinks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty sure I was filmed sneaking a whiff of the Magna Carta while photographing the 700 year old document on the job. What can I say, I love the scent of old parchment!

You prefer a lady that is low maintenance and not overly girly.

Can be OK with the likelihood that I may not live super close to you. I live some distance from D.C., Baltimore, NoVa, and some parts of SoMD.
