My self-summary
I love learning, especially about brains and games. I am a polyamorous bisexual kinky atheist. My name is Sam.

I like taking conversations meta, Cards Against Humanity, and complicated people.

I do not like precipitation.

I am Wry, Contemplative, and Excited.
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I design video games.

Academically, I'm into cognitive science, AI, and the more useful bits of analytic philosophy.

Personally, I work on the occasional indie game project, write a little, read a ton, and play a lot of board games.
I’m really good at
Solving puzzles.

Putting words next to each other.

Translating jargon.

Using semi-colons.

Overthinking simple things and underthinking complicated things. Or possibly the other way around. I'll need to think about it.

Being happy about having feelings made out of atoms.
The first things people usually notice about me
Sometimes I wear t-shirts that glow in the dark or make fun of guitar players or proclaim my opinions about things like kissing (I'm in favor).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Catch-22, Stranger in a Strange Land, American Gods, Terry Pratchett, Phillip Pullman, Jim Butcher, Harry Potter, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Sandman, Snow Crash, Anathem, sundry others.

Shows: Misfits, the obligatory Joss Whedon classics, 30 Rock, the IT Crowd, Coupling, Arrested Development, Community, Futurama.

Music: Most of the music I like is indie or electronic or both. Modest Mouse and the Arcade Fire, Deadmau5 and Daft Punk. I used to be ashamed of loving Lady Gaga, but I've since removed shame from my emotional vocabulary. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Florence + the Machine and string quartets covering rock songs.

Food: I really like spicy food, lamb, chocolate, and fruity cocktails.
The six things I could never do without
- My second brain, which some people call the internet.

- Cuddling/Oxytocin.

- Big stacks of books.

- Incredibly hard problems.

- Clever video games.

- Mystitatalia.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Various creative projects. Transhumanism. Social dynamics. Ethics. Things I should be doing. Math. Sex. The people I am (or should be) having it with.
On a typical Friday night I am
Reading or writing or playing video games or out on a date or at a party.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As far as the bedroom goes, I have a list of six fairly specific things I won't try. Everything else is on the table, so to speak.
You should message me if
You think I might be attractive. That's just common sense.

Or if you want to talk about religion, sexuality, polyamory or really anything else at all. I love to argue and I love being wrong.

To save us both time, I am not even slightly interested in any kind of relationship that could be described as "spiritual" or "monogamous".
