My self-summary
This is still a work in progress, much like myself. I need to update it, but have to think of something sufficiently witty, yet provacative thing to say, but for now I just need to go to bed.

I hate my job. I work for the TSA, which means, yes, I pat down your granny and take away her water. I hate my job. Did I say that already? But it pays the bills, sorta, and is certainly not where I want to stay.

When I'm not working I'm perfectly happy sitting at home, watching movies and knitting, but I'm always up for a nice muddy cave trip too. I can't settle on just one thing that interests me, which means my life is a bit cluttered at times, but I always try to make it fun. I love trying new things, even if I have to admit I'm a bit scared at times.
I love animals, hate self-centered people, and my ultimate nightmare is becoming a subarban housewife with 2.5 kids, a dog and a minivan.

I am reserved, eccentric, and inquisitive
What I’m doing with my life
Graduated college in 2007, with degrees in anthropology and french, with grand plans for my life. But with no real experience, and the economic collapse that happened just as I graduated, I still don't have a 'real' job. I had hoped to work with the UN, preferably overseas somewhere, where I can at least pretend I'm using all my french classes. If that doesn't work out, I wan't to join the Peace Corps, something to get me out of the country for awhile, and feel like I'm doing something worthwhile with my life. Hopefully I can soon.
I’m really good at
knitting, making a fool of myself, typos, noticing random mistakes in otherwise good books, acting like I know what I'm doing when I really have no idea, which can lead to interesting results.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes probably, or my hair when I let it do its curly thing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - The Harry Potter series, Diana Gabaldon's novels, Lord of the Rings, Stephen King's books, especially the Dark Tower series, American Gods, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and others.
Movies - All the Monty Python movies, Pirates of the Carribbean, The Princess Bride, Airplane, Labyrinth, Lord of the Rings
For TV - Currently, I'm addicted to Doctor Who (new and old series), Battlestar Galactica, Lost, and House.
Music - I'll listen to basically anything, but I have a strong aversion to rap and country music, because of my dad's wife. My favorite is rock, and my favorite band has been Pink Floyd since I was about 14. Green Day, Tool, and Korn are really good too.
Food - I'll try almost anything, but I'm not a big meat eater. I have this thing against seeing the meat still on the bone, I guess it makes it more apparent that I'm actually eating another being. But give me a boneless, skinless chicken breast and I'm happy.
Six things I could never do without
My computer, my dogs, water, food, air, and something to keep my hands busy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the future, and what it's going to look like if the world, and our country in particular continues on the course we're currently set at. That's why I want to try to make a change, somehow, even if it's minor.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not working, I'm probably hanging out with my friends. If I have the weekend off, hopefully I'm off getting tired, wet and muddy crawling through a cave, or off at the river, swimming with my dogs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't have all that much experience in the dating scene, mostly because I've always been rather withdrawn and reserved, which I'm trying to change about myself.

Also, I randomly have explosively loud hiccups, which come out with an actual 'hic' sound, just like in the cartoons. It often startles strangers, who don't know whether I've sneezed, or set off some sort of bomb in my throat. It amuses me though.
You should message me if
you want to know more about me, or if you think I'm an interesting person and that we would get along.
