My self-summary
I am an attentive, chivalrous and genuine guy. I recognize that your time and presence is a gift, and I'm looking for a like-minded explorer/companion who aims to live life to its fullest, laughing all the way to the finish line.

I'm an extremely loving person. I am blessed/cursed with the tendency to look at people with rose- colored glasses, quick to notice the heroic, the beautiful, the eternal. All people elicit my sympathy and compassion -- some just take longer than others.

I value art, artists, creating. Music, literature, theater, food... all of it. I have a voracious appetite in this realm.

Sadly, I am not handy when it comes to cars, computers and the like. If I'm assembling IKEA for you, you are guaranteed to hear expletives, and you will possess a flawed but functional piece of furniture that will haunt you forever.

I love road trips and meeting people from other places. If I were king, traveling abroad would be MANDATORY. I learned more in my year abroad than I've learned in all the other years combined. I value and enjoy unbridled conversation.
What I’m doing with my life
Fathering, working, hanging with friends and family, being my cat's servant, outdoors stuff, starting a new career.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, public speaking, communication, befriending furry animals, spelling, math, expressing feelings, cooking, making watermelon sangria, Scrabble.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm adorable yet grizzled. Or maybe it's my nose, or that I'm skinny. I don't want to know.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: I liked American Psycho, Dark Shadows, The Shawshank Redemption, Pecker, Lost in Translation, Ghost World, Pan's Labyrinth, The Royal Tenenbaums, Little Miss Sunshine, American Beauty. John Waters, Tim Burton, Woody Allen, Michael Moore, Morgan Spurlock, stupid comedies.

Music: Chronic Pandora tinkerer, and lifelong KEXP member. Love live music of all kinds in intimate venues.

Books: A Confederacy of Dunces; The Jungle; Dracula; Tropic of Cancer; A People's History of the United States; Steppenwolf; Wonder Boys; Guns, Germs and Steel; anything by Tom Robbins, Graham Greene, Michael Chabon, Haruki Murakami, Robertson Davies, James Joyce, Chuck Palahniuk, Tama Janowitz, Herman Hesse. I've enjoyed some Buddhist philosophy, science, biographies.

TV: No thanks.

Food: Yes please.
Six things I could never do without
Smiles, sunshine, art, coffee, internet, and hope.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How did this all get here, and where is it all headed?
On a typical Friday night I am
Home with my daughter, making the most of our limited time together. Or if I've arranged a sleepover for her, you'll probably find me enjoying music and/or food & beverages with friends in some capacity.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like stars.
You should message me if
You value honesty. You've got depth. You give and accept love freely. You know your power!
