My self-summary
Moved to the city in early 2012. Seems like yesterday

make music (if that isn't apparent).
am a big fan of good beers and food.
may be a bit of a beer snob.
grew up about six hours northwest of the city.
ride/work on (the latter more so) mopeds.
have been to every continent.
played hockey through Major Juniors, if that means anything.

I like stuff, and maybe a few things.
What I’m doing with my life
What I tell people: working for a software company.
What I do: watch things on Netflix, or read about things well outside the scope of my understanding and nod knowingly despite my total ignorance.

Outside of the office, I tinker away on my mopeds, write songs about situations I've never experienced, and plan to reorganize my books but never do.

Recent addition: going back to school part-time in an attempt to change careers.
I’m really good at
Puns, drinking more quickly than I mean to, forgetting the time immediately after I check it, and talking through bad movies/TV shows (much to the chagrin of my roommate).
The first things people usually notice about me
Ruthlessly sarcastic. Probably bleeding. Occasionally mustachioed.

But I have a large beard currently, so probably that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Ender's Game, Y: The Last Man, Daytripper, Song of Ice and Fire, Lord of the Rings, [insert fantasy or sci-fi book here], etc. I like Vonnegut in theory, but not in practice. Just Kids by Patti Smith was golden. I read Unbearable Lightness of Being once and I'm like 50% sure I got it.

Star Wars, Evil Dead 2, films of Christopher Guest, Alfonso Cuaron, Paul Thomas Anderson or David Lynch.

Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Parks and Recreation, Peep Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Breaking Bad, shitty high school dramas like Friday Night Lights (although FNL is by no means shitty).

Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, Neutral Milk Hotel, The National, The Mountain Goats, Aesop Rock, American Football (pretty much anything that came out of the Chicago area in the late 90's), Courtney Barnett, Low, Alvvays, Wilco, music I can inappropriately shake my narrow hips to. I really like most of the new Carly Rae Jepsen album and I'm not ashamed.

This song is perfect.

Bacon, and things with bacon.
Six things I could never do without
Music, beer, toothpaste, Hall and Oates, whiskey, and Levi's 510's.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Is my roommate listening to Pearl Jam? Is it too late for blintzes?

Why this site lets you have C++ and LISP as languages, but not Java.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday was actually a crazy night for me. Had some friends over, we had a few drinks. We hung out in my basement, the chill-zone. That's where we chillax. Relax and chill all at once. Then Seth's parents were throwing this party. We got to hang around adults, which was a nice change of pace. You know? We got to converse. We talked to people and they had interesting stories. I talked to a man that claimed he'd climbed five mountains in his life. And then we went to a nightclub, which was incredible. A big fancy one. "I feel crazy," I said that. We got right in. Then we called it a night. We were all just really exhausted.

You would've loved it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've been to a banana show. Do yourself a favor and don't look this up.
You should message me if
You'll understand the many references to nerd culture or various movies I will undoubtedly make, you can play an instrument, you won't judge me on aforementioned references, you drink whiskey neat, you're Jenny Lewis, your pictures were taken by someone else. You don't abuse punctuation, or "lol."

You'll tell me when I'm wrong.

Or if you want. Free country and all.
