My self-summary
I am a peaceful laid back software programmer working hard to accumulate my riches. I have BS degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. I like to play/perform on my acoustic nylon stringed Spanish guitars (flamenco, classical, Bossa nova, Renaissance). I also spend a lot of time sailboat racing on the Chesapeake. I stay in shape through martial arts, a vegan diet and living an active lifestyle. I recently earned a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and I have been teaching fencing for the last 10 years. I like to scuba dive, climb, hike, canoe, camp, ski, cave. I am certified as an emergency first responder, a rescue scuba diver and as an adult Boy Scout leader, really! Despite all my physical activity I am really an intellectual who never stops learning. Actually, who am I really kidding? I'm doing all these things to keep my mind off not having a lover/soul-mate/wife.
What I’m doing with my life
I work hard at staying out of trouble and being a sailor, martial artist, fencer, musician, etc mostly though because I am hoping that if I'm a good person in this life the creator will let me be a pirate in my next.
I’m really good at
Sailboat Racing (like Captain Jack Sparrow good), Programming (never been on unemployment good), Playing Guitar (Not quite Andalusian Gypsy good but working on it), Downhill Skiing (James Bond action movie good), staying cool and collected in a crisis (I make Ethan Hunt look like an emotional basket case)
The first things people usually notice about me
my swagger and the storm cloud following me .... unless they've crossed me and then its only my hot breath in the dark just before I shank them in the neck - just kidding, no one has ever crossed far

Six things I could never do without
Oh just the basic essentials:
Maraging FIE fencing blades
Spectra halyards
Hannabach high tension guitar strings
Swiss dive watches w/complications
German sports cars
Titanium scuba regulators
sunsets are pretty important too but that would make 7
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Mostly how to reconcile the wave-particle duality of matter and whether my arms are equally tanned. I also spend a lot of time contemplating great mysteries in life, like: how I can not just be the best Byronic hero I can be but how I can be YOUR Byronic hero. Also wondering which was the more truthful version of Mr Rochester, Charlotte Bronte's or Jean Rhys's?
On a typical Friday night I am
busking for beer money. Occasionally inviting a friend over to give me their opinion on the cask of Amontillado in my cellar. Working on get rich quick projects!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As you can tell from the pictures my first mistress will always be the sea. But the thing is, that's just an expression, there is no sex or bdsm involved. Unless you count one rum soaked evening, under the light of a waning moon, when I swam in strangely phosphorescent waters, and I mistook a hagfish for a mermaid but the details are certainly too private to admit to.
You should message me if
I have high hopes that online dating will allow me to meet someone compatible rather than relying on chance. Perhaps it is misplaced but I persevere.

Do write me if you can use an activity partner. I am always looking for sailing crew, a dive buddy, someone my children can trust to belay me, a dining companion, theatre company, a muse, enema nurse (is anyone reading this?) or someone with strong arms to help me move furniture.
The two of us
