My self-summary
I'm creative, analytical, and flexible, and I appreciate intelligence and curiosity in other people. I missed the dating scene the first time around, and I'm looking to fix that. I'm totally a hipster, but I can laugh about it.

I have pursued interests like studying Japanese and adjusting to a polyphasic sleep pattern. I've dabbled a little in locksport, creating games and writing speculative fiction.

That's a few sentences that are true. But if that's not enough, read on!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working as an engineer-in-training in the consulting engineering business. I live in a house with a couple of my friends. Right now I'm planning a trip with my sister to Japan in June 2013.
I’m really good at
I like to think that I'm good at a lot of things, but here is a smattering of things that other people actually do come to me for help with:

Math problems
Board game rules
Computer issues
Spelling and grammar conundra (or is it conundrums...?)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a little bit shy, and I can get pretty intense once I get into my element. (Let's talk about something interesting, like recent science news (Mars lander, maybe?), and not about the latest episode of some TV show.) I've been told that I have an interesting vocabulary.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read sci-fi and fantasy books, ebooks and audio books. I've started reading more non-fiction on topics like quantum physics, psychology, economics, and more.

I used to play a lot of video games, but I do a lot less of that these days. If you are/were a gamer, drop me a line, and let's chat about some old favourites. :)

My most-listened-to music includes Sonata Arctica, MC Frontalot, and Simon and Garfunkel. My music compilation also has a bunch of Japanese bands in it, including Bump of Chicken, Anthem, and Yuzu.

I mostly cook vegetarian food (with a sprinkling of seafood thrown in now and then). When eating out, I especially like Thai food, Indian food and sushi. (If you are a meat eater, that doesn't bother me. We can still be friends. :))
The six things I could never do without
What, and give away my only weaknesses? Okcupid must think I'm crazy. :S
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What do I want to be when I grow up? :)
What makes a game fun and/or successful?
How can [insert generic thing] be made better?
What can I make for dinner using just the stuff in my fridge?
What's really important in life?
(... and other deeply philosophical questions. :P)
On a typical Friday night I am
At home reading something on the interwebs, out shopping for groceries, chilling with some friends at my place, reading a book, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't have a driver's license, and it's a lot more doable than most people think.
You should message me if
I think I'd like to chat with you if:
- you enjoy smart conversations about a wide range of topics.
- you like to go out, but also enjoy nights in, playing board games, etc.

You might like to chat with me if:
- you're interested in design.
- you like social role playing games.
- you'd like to paint things (I organize a miniature painting party every few weeks!)

Send me a wink or a message, and let's talk. I'm a little shy (and sometimes a little dense), so your best bet to hear from me is if you take things into your own hands. :)
