My self-summary
I bring warmth, zest, and humor to any relationship, and can be a loyal, sensitive,.supportive, affectionate, and even passionate lover. I want someone who can bring this out, and occasionally tell me to "get real" and live life, not just watch it.

I'm interested in lots of things - music, art, comedy, and drama, and my favorite city is Paris, where I collect data for my research. But when I'm not there I sail, snorkel, kayak, bike, ski, and sometimes even paint (watercolor).

In winter I try to stay in shape, and exercise every other day. I need to, because I love food and can't avoid dark chocolate.

I am engaging, genuine, and tired of winter
What I’m doing with my life
Well, I'm still learning about life, and so far, so good. I'm financially and emotionally secure, spend the winters writing in Toronto and getting away. Summers are for the sea, more writing, kayaking and stuff, and planting trees.
I’m really good at
my work, putting people at ease, listening, conversing, causing laughter, and planting trees. (I can do some of these, but not all, simultaneously, and with my eyes closed)
The first things people usually notice about me
eyes, voice, engaging irreverence, curiosity, and sense of humor
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Zorba the Greek, The Little Prince, Portrait of Jenny, Name of the Rose, Outliers, Freakonomics, History, Historical novels

The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner, Casablanca, Doctor Zhivago, Scent of a Woman, Hitchcock, Robert Altman, Woody Allen, and the Coen Bros.

Light classical, jazz, folk and rock, and even opera, but not ot hip-hop.

Mahi mahi, jambalya, lasagna, Christmas dinner, chocolate, and Grand Marnier crepes, sold on the street.
The six things I could never do without
daughters (now adults in their own homes)
cat (Sneferu, also adult)
friends and discussions (about everything except post modernism)
sea, sky, and nature
cognac or Laphroig by the fire when it snows
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the connection between past, present and where it all might go
On a typical Friday night I am
at a restaurant with friends in the city, and watching the sunset and the first stars when I'm at my summer place or with friends at the nearby chowder house.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It's more important to be lucky than smart
You should message me if
if you think we might have complimentary neuroses.
