My self-summary
If I don't just start typing, I'll never fill this out. I strive to be uniquely myself. I am comfortable with who I am and am able to laugh at myself. I am well balanced and sometimes a paradox. I prefer to make people laugh, but I can make them cry as well. I lean toward the high brow, but I am proud of my guilty pleasures. I am a complex being, but I love the simple pleasures in life. I love to sing, but I prefer to do it in private. I embrace beauty, but I sometimes find it in dark places. (enough of THAT). I have a pretty big brain, and I enjoy contemplation. I enjoy cooking and eating and get annoyed when others have issues with either.

I am wonderful, terrible, and lovely
What I’m doing with my life
Being good to animals, other people, and myself. I work enough to make a living and be independent. I recreate as much as possible. I enjoy: running, kayaking, looking at nature (especially trees and birds), and consuming art with like-minded friends. I am dedicated and loyal to my family and friends.
I’m really good at
Remembering things, solving crossword puzzles, asserting myself, analyzing things, making people laugh, cooking a decent meal, and feeling everything.
The first things people usually notice about me
Sense of humor, intelligence, and strong will.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Everything Salinger, Hollinghurst, and Edmund White have written. "The Bell Jar" - nothing like a little Plathos (it is our loss that she interrupted the sorrow).
Plays: Albee is brilliant and highly entertaining. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" is electrifying.
Movies: Love me some Woody Allen. I am inspired by Atom Egoyian and Jane Campion. French dramas move me.
Music: My singer/songwriter trinity is Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, and Jane Siberry. A little Tori Amos never hurts.
Six things I could never do without
Crosswords, coffee, running, friends, nature, and art.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ongoing obsessions:

Other people, how I can be a better person, what I need, will I ever love again (someone who captures my soul).

Recent ruminations:

Reality TV is an obscenity! It is the downfall of an art form.

I miss the days when a Tea Party was a lovely, civilized affair.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing whatever moves me. My life is typically not typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You should message me if
you get any of this.
