What I’m doing with my life
I'm fortunate enough to have a job that I love and one that surprises me on a daily basis, is challenging and inspirational with a dash of playful creativity and a smidge of international spice. Favorite hidden gems include the coast of northern Spain, deserts in general, Namibia, Buenos Aires, places where people have crazy curly hair, Capetown, somewhere I can have savory soup for many places to love.
I’m really good at
-Connecting with strangers (and non-strangers too)
-Landing in a new country and finding my way to the hidden gem of a restaurant or site worthy of a postcard
-Gathering and feeding a group of random friends
-Making a last minute meal from the random leftovers and condiments in the fridge
-Connecting with kids
-Wearing a mermaid costume with chuck taylors and jeans.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure on this one - have had many comment on my eye color - green, brown, yellow, hazel or all of the above... depending on what I'm wearing and how I'm feeling... next best thing to a mood ring, I suppose.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music - anything live and with rhythm - African bands, Salsa, Argentinian tango, New Orleans cajun... as well as some blues, and can always enjoy classic performances as well.

Books - the Sunday NYT, Half the Sky, Einstein's Dreams, Terry Tempest Williams books, Mary Oliver poems, The Guernsy and Potato Peel Society, Water for Elephants, Like Water for Chocolate, What is the What, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy... some favs.

Movies - Darjeeling Limited, Cairo Time, Sex & Lucia, Il Postino, Roman Holiday... foreign and classics alike...
Six things I could never do without
A passport, MB, and could live without most everything else ... I'm simple...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Building community near and far through food, art, and play. How to appease the snow gods so that we get a decent winter with the white stuff. The mysteries of this OKC experience.
On a typical Friday night I am
No such thing! Out at live music, enjoying good eats & drinks, diving into community events, shaking it up at dance parties, hosting potlucks. Essentially enjoying wherever I am.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Will save that for later...
