My self-summary
Hi there! I am most likely not going to be your new best friend but I am the type of guy you want for one!

Born and raised in South Jersey but have lived in the Adirondacks and other parts of NY state. Try as I might to leave, this place is part of who I am.

Proud owner of 4 special mini dachshunds!

I have put spaces in here for ADHD convenient reading purposes. Who likes reading a wall of text about someone they don't even know?
What I’m doing with my life
Slavin' for the man. I work in the craft beer industry in South Jersey. It pays the bills and I enjoy it. I'm a certified audio engineer (recording bands snd whatnot) but the chances of actually doing anything professionally with that is a pipe dream. I'd like to go back to school for something else after I get a few other important things out of the way first.

In my spare time, I write long, boring songs that generally only I would find interesting. Sometimes, when I'm not completely lazy, I record them.

I don't watch a lot of television but Youtube, Netflix, and a sprinkle of on demand programming do tend to make their way into my week.

I spent a large portion of my youth trying to get into the Gaming industry producing music. I shelved that for a long time, but I've recently gotten back into it due to recent new software/hardware acquisitions.

I used to do a lot of homebrewing but have shelved it for now. I fully intend on getting back to it though. I enjoyed coming up with stupid puns for the names. Last one I did was a chocolate rye pumpkin beer called Gourdi Laforage, (for you Star Trek fans).
I’m really good at
I can play just about any instrument I get my hands on, not always terribly well, but I try.

Leaving my car windows down, especially when it's going to rain.

Listening and giving advice.

Coming up with witty remarks on the spot.

Making a great cup of coffee. Once I figure out your perfect cream/sugar/strength ratio, it's all over.

Suggesting music, movies and books based on people's taste.

Disobeying rules. Not so much a "lawbreaker" but I definitely march to my own beat.

Making a mess.

Cleaning the mess... well, sorta.
The first things people usually notice about me
The hair...

I'm a little quiet until I get to know you or have had a few drinks.

I am sure a lot of people notice a lot of things that would make me self conscious, so I tend not to think about this.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Most of my recent reads have been non fiction relating to brewing and various science texts. I am not opposed to fiction at all but when I tend to read those, I find the day is gone and then I get sad. That being said, I've tended to enjoy long sprawling works things with a fantasy or supernatural feel. A Song of Ice and Fire, His Dark Materials, Outlander, The Witcher, Lord of the Rings, The Dark Tower are some examples.

Orig Star wars trilogy, new Batman trilogy, Fight Club,Back to the Future, Memento, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Lord of the rings, American History X, Transformers (the 1986 movie, not 2007 and onward), Short Circuit, Groundhog Day, Dark Crystal, Tron, Terminator 2, Mulholland Drive, Pootie tang (guilty pleasure), Cannibal:the musical, Amelie, Inception, how to tame your dragon, Taken (the first), THE ROOM.
My favorite Christmas movies are Die Hard and Gremlins.

Shows: Doctor Who ( grew up with the classic but love the new series also), Transformers, Star Trek (ALL OF IT, especially Deep Space Nine), Battle Star Galactica, LOST, Fringe, Seinfeld, Breaking Bad,Band of Brothers, Game of Thrones, Flight of the Conchords, Family Feud, X-Files, Primeval, etc. If it was a Netflix exclusive chances are I watched it and at the very least enjoyed it. Love the Science channel. I also have an affinity for any show dedicated to food.

Including but not limited to:

Proggy - Oceansize, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Pure Reason Revolution, Amplifier, Riverside, Anathema, Anekdoten, Umphrey's Mcgee, Vola, Shattered Skies, Tesseract, Jolly, Leprous, etc

Metal/Doomy - (old) Opeth, Insomnium, In Mourning, Ne Obliviscaris, Be'lakor, Amon Amarth, etc

I also enjoy cheesey 80s shit and video game music.

Indian cuisine is the best food ever!! Don't use Temple of Doom as a reference! Baked pasta, pizza, chinese, mexican, anything spicy, anything with garlic, kransekake (Norwegian wedding cake).

As for beverages, water, coffee, beer and tea are pretty much all I drink. Very ocassional wine or whiskey.
Six things I could never do without

Human companionship.

Freedom to express myself

Coffee in the morning.

Beer in the evening (the good microbrew stuff, not the piss fuzz everyone in the US associates as "beer"). I don't drink every day, but I do drink often. The stuff I drink is more about the taste and how it goes with food rather than the alcoholic effect. Still, I enjoy that as well.

Dihydrogen Monoxide.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The intricate and broad aspects of my favorite music

Homebrewing again :-/

People that are no longer in my life for one reason or another

The universe.

I get very nostalgic, so I guess the past (but I don't LIVE in the past)
On a typical Friday night I am
I like having beer tastings/game nights or going to the bar.

Rewriting lists over and over.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I say "buy me a drink and find out" it sounds like I'm just trying to get a free drink. Am I really though? Buy me a drink and find out.
You should message me if
You should message me because why the fuck not? Whats the worst that could happen? You'd be amazed how easy I am to talk to. If it happens we don't click, no worries at all. :)

Up until recently I had "seeing someone" in my profile and that comes from the fact that my long term gf and I aree taking a long break while trying to figure shit out. While reconciling is a possibility its very much not a likelihood. We own a house and have multiple things that are tied together so a clean split is not easy.

I'm also actively searching for like minded people to just hang out or even just talk to online/text. Also wouldn't mind someone who can help round out the beer tastings my friends and I do every two weeks or so in the Cherry Hill area. Free craft beer and cool stories... Interested?
