My self-summary
O, where to begin. I'm an affable academic who is addicted to procrastination and loves hanging out in coffee shops. I am a pretty well-rounded atypical guy, who doesn't really seem to fit into gay community since I am allergic to flakiness, game-playing and dishonesty.

I have eclectic tastes and lots of hobbies: I have Red Sox season tickets, love good beer and wine and food, have a newly-redone kitchen that needs more reasons to cook, collect coins, write and solve puzzles of many types, read myriad liberal political blogs, and look forward every week to pub trivia with my posse.

My greatest asset in life is the friends I have built up and can rely on. I'm usually the counselor for all my friends and students, and I love that role. I pretty much think that cuddling up to friends and loved ones is perfection, and I am one of those strange people that gets relaxed by giving massages to other people. The most fun time is getting to know all about a new person and making all those connections, so drop me a line and I can start to ask you things and fill in the blanks about me.

I am Nerdy, Sensitive, and Caffeinated
What I’m doing with my life
At the moment, I'm trying to become the best possible academic I can be and being a good researcher, trying to get my house in order after avoiding it for seven years, and hanging out with my friends.
I’m really good at
solving puzzles, making Sporcle quizzes, giving friends advice, wasting time, never sleeping, neck and head massages, buying beautiful handmade glass and pottery, and baking lemon squares.
The first things people usually notice about me
That my hair gets curly when it is long or humid
That I'm short
That I know a lot of random things about a lot of random topics
That I spend far too much time online
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything Kurt Vonnegut ever wrote, Catch 22, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, 1984, The Heptad of Harry Potter,
Blogs: DailyKos, fivethirtyeight.com, Huffington Post, Swing State Project
Movies: The Spielberg Crying Trilogy (Schindler's List, The Color Purple, Empire of the Sun), The Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, and well, I just lover movies. I'm not sure there is anything I cannot watch.
Music: Lately I've been into the Magnetic Fields, Dresden Dolls and Vampire Weekend. I'm pretty much into the indie rock scene if people expose me to it. My iTunes is just random and you can ask me more.
Food: If I'm cooking it tends to be desserts or Italian as that's what my mom taught me how to make. I pretty much love good bar burgers, sushi, and spicy things.
Six things I could never do without
Cuddling, crossword puzzles, the internets, oxygen, bacon, and television.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
congressional races, puzzles, my students, saving the economy, making the world more liberal and progressive, my friends, and fun sleepovers.
On a typical Friday night I am
usually recovering from the week by going out to dinner with friends, going out doing something nice like clubbing or seeing a movie, staying up late, and maybe playing Wii or cuddling watching TiVo later.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to be so afraid of staring to date because I was afraid that everyone else was more experienced than I was at everything. Several of my girl friends in college offered me kissing lessons because I was so worried about being bad at it.
You should message me if
any of this sounded intriguing and you want to know more or just start becoming a new friend.
