My self-summary
When I was six, I dressed up as Batman, and jumped off a sofa believing I could fly. I learned a valuable lesson that day about gravity.

Two decades later, I did a catapult take-off from an aircraft carrier. Take that gravity!

With that out my system, I left my home in Britain and came to the United States in search of adventure.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a magazine correspondent, professor, non-fiction author (fourth book just came out!), and TV pundit.
I’m really good at
Toppling tyrants.
The first things people usually notice about me
My British accent.

The six things I could never do without
Hmm...there are Seven Virtues and only six slots available, so either chastity or temperance may have to go.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Jumpers versus sweaters, brilliant versus awesome, aluminium versus aluminum.
On a typical Friday night I am
At an art museum or a dive bar: museums for the drinking, and dive bars for the art.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I own an enormous landed estate in England, named Pemberley.
You should message me if
You were born in 1970 in the Catskills, your dad's a Norwegian clothes manufacturer, and your mom's a Jewish antiques dealer.

Oh, no, wait...that's Jennifer Connelly.

Just kidding, I'm not really that picky.

I'd love to meet someone smart and creative, who sees the funny side.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'd rather escape from OKC and get to know you over a glass of wine.
