I've got a pretty full plate right now, but I'm still down to meet new people when time permits.
I reflexively hit Command-Z in real life.
I'm not sure how I can best reconcile these, but I'm imagining some sort of Laurie Anderson-esque multimedia extravaganza.
CSS. (Sass, really.)
Elaborate hangover breakfasts. (see below)
From the back: DAT ASS.
I'm way behind in my reading; I read something like 20 thousand words a day in blog format but my half-finished books have piled up so much that I'm not letting myself buy anymore until i get through them.
Of the books I have read, A Pattern Language is probably the most influential in my life; when I moved to New York it was the only one I brought with me.
I don't watch a lot of tv or movies; I pretty much only watch stuff with other people. After all, I've got so much reading to catch up on.
Troll 2 is a terrible movie but I've watched and analyzed it more than any other. There's a really great hybrid of The Shining & The Stuff lurking inside that's calling out for a remake.
I mostly watch Adventure Time and reality-style gameshows like RuPaul's Drag Race & Top Chef. (Sweet Genius sits right at the intersection of these.)
I listen to a lot of podcasts, but the only one I absolutely can't miss is Roderick on the Line.
I have a complicated relationship with Phil Collins. Like "oh, he's so lame, except for these nine records I love."
Six people I wish were my cool uncle

How a cis white dude in a boys-club industry could be smashin' patriarchy. Is there an antonym for "brogrammer?"
Whether I'm ready for SuperTrain.
Sauté half a red onion in butter in a large pan. When those are clear, add half a diced and seeded poblano pepper. When the onions are brown, add a diced plum tomato. Push those over to one side of the pan and fill the other side with canned black beans (about half a can) with 2 cloves of chopped garlic mixed in. In another pan, toast a corn tortilla, and when that's crispy, use that pan to fry two eggs over-easy.
Assemble on the plate with the beans at the bottom, then the tortilla, then eggs, then sofrito, with a dollop of mexican crema on top. Serve with sliced avocado on the side.
(I've been trying out variations with assorted animal fats instead of butter, e.g. bacon grease, schmaltz etc. but it seems kind of like I'm gilding the lily.)
