My self-summary

I am a very sensitive, intuitive, loving, thoughtful, flighty, flakey, honest, generous woman. I am fiercely loyal, and devote a lot of energy and time to the relationships closest to me. I pride myself more on my character than I do on my outside achievements and I tend to value who a person is more than what they do. I am funny and silly and quirky and sometimes a little dorky.
What I’m doing with my life
Living from my heart. Cooking fabulous food, traveling as much as I can, and laughing everyday. It's the little things in life, totally.
I’m really good at
COOKING! It is probably my number 1 talent. I love cooking for the people I care about, be it Italian, Indian, Thai, whatever! I am OK at decorating cupcakes using a pastry bag. I also love to write and think I am fairly good at it. I am an excellent observer, and usually notice things others don't. I am a very good listener. I am very good at paying attention. I am a champ at listening to music at obscene levels of volume (especially in my car!!)
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my smile and how I am easy to be around. Many people tell me I look familiar and wonder if we have met before. It's kind of weird how often that happens, actually...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: well, i wish this was a section I could fill with extremely intelligent/"cool" titles like "War and Peace" or "Catcher in the Rye". Being in school completely depleted my desire to read for pleasure (which I have to admit wasn't all that robust to begin with). If you love reading books and want to make sure I'm not a dummy, recommend one to me that I should read and we can talk about it. Books I will always love no matter my age: Weetzie Bat, Goodnight Moon, Blueberries for Sal, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Pat The Bunny. I will always love "The Kite Runner" for being the only book I have ever read that made me sob uncontrollably (in a good way... ?).

Movies: where do I begin?! I have a degree in film so my tastes range from "Stepbrothers" to "À Bout de Soufflé (Breathless)" and everything in between. Some of my all-time favorites are: Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Un chien andalou, American Beauty, Outside Providence, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, The Red Balloon, La Jette, (500) Days of Summer, Little Miss Sunshine, Kung Fu Hustle, Wristcutters, Me and You and Everyone We Know. I also love independent films and films that invoke emotion and have depth. Oh, and non-domestic, non-hollywood, non-pieces of crap.

Music: oh boy. indie rock all the way. I am extremely passionate about music and hope the person I date is as well. I love finding new bands, going to shows and I listen to music nearly 24/7. arcade fire, tame impala, lcd soundsystem, toro y moi, washed out, tennis, temples, etc, etc, etc are just some of the bands I love. I also love Yann Tierson, big band/rat-pack stuff, and some jazz and classical. Even some old Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Listening to right this second: tame impala- let it happen.

Food : love love love it. Love to cook and love to eat. Love Meditteranean, italian, french, greek, indian, thai, sushi/japanese, and plain ol' american. I love to try new things/ cuisines, but you couldn't pay me to eat a banana. The smell alone makes me gag. However, I do enjoy banana bread on occasion- one of the quirky contradictions that is me.
Six things I could never do without
1. awareness
2. High thread count sheets
3. friends
4. good food
5. my iPhone (oh, how it hurt me to write that)
6. a good, sharp knife in the kitchen
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Buying a house. Decorating that house. Having a family. Finding my secretagentloverman! And honestly, finding real and true love (no pressure though- we hardly know each other).
On a typical Friday night I am
I have no typical Friday night. I could be staying home and recouping from a crazy week like last week by making myself Thai food and watching on demand, or hanging with my best friend, niece and nephew watching a VHS tape checked out from the library, or seeing a band at a bar, or sledding. Depends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not. If I deem you worthy, I shall divulge.
