My self-summary
Thinker, tinker, traveler, unraveler, reader, writer, maker, baker. Scientist, Pagan, bit of an acidhead. I'm polyamorous and I'm INTP.

I like puns and beer and the ache in my legs from climbing a mountain trail. I like to feel the pages of a book between my fingers and I like to spend all weekend in bed with a lover, just sheets and skin and sweat and the luxuriant power to give each other pleasure. I like math problems and goofy exercise programs and I like to laugh.
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it. That's what it's for.

I finished my master's (in mathematics) at Western Washington University in June; now I'm in England for more mathematics at Cambridge University. So exciting!

And wherever I am, I'll be traveling, reading, enjoying my loved ones and my lovers, and following the inscrutable exhortations of my soul.
I’m really good at
Everything I put my mind to, except putting my mind to things.

Math, cooking, wandering, getting lost, getting found, philosophy, fun, puns, listening, sex (no, really. I'm very good).
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall. Really tall.

And I'm a total geek. I make no apologies.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lots of science fiction and fantasy. Robert Heinlein, Cory Doctorow, Neal Stephenson, Frank Herbert, and such. Lev Grossman's The Magicians is my current favorite: it's what Harry Potter should have been. The Curse of Chalion.

Mark Twain, Kate Chopin, Ernest Hemingway, and George Orwell.

The Story of O

Polyamory books: The Ethical Slut, Sex at Dawn, Marriage and Morals (by Bertrand Russell). Stranger in a Strange Land, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and Courtship Rites.

Ready Player One is AMAZING. Eccentric ultra-billionaire video game creator dies and bequeathes his entire fortune to whomever finds an easter egg in his game. It's chock-full of geek culture references, a total nerdgasm.

Vicky Christina Barcelona and even-numbered Star Trek movies. Anything they'll show in little independent cinemas, from highbrow Cannes arthouse to the cheesiest of grindhouse.

Mostly rock, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Are You Experienced, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Queen II, 5000 Layers of the Onion, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Slippery When Wet. Also a lot of classical music and old blues.

Food (!):
I love food. Grease and salt and fresh local veggies. Ethnic food, from Argentinian to Zimbabwean, and classic "American" stuff like meatloaf or funnel cakes. I love craft beer and red wine and small batch bourbon and dry gin martinis.

I do not eat mushrooms. Other than that, it's all good.
Six things I could never do without
Occasional solitude
Tasty, tasty food
Stimulating conversation
Grand hopes and dreams
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about everything, all the time. Books and math and women and social justice and world domination and flowers and non-capitalist economics and Greek gods and Greek philosophy and what to have for lunch.

Mostly math and women, though, I guess.
On a typical Friday night I am
What's typical? Maybe I'm studying, worshiping the moon, drinking with friends, reading, stargazing, or sleeping with you.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am hairy like Sean Connery.

And I play D&D.
You should message me if
... you know how to spell.
... you think I'm cool. Or hot. Or interesting. Or baffling. But not if you think I'm boring.

I always appreciate messages, and I always reply, because that's just polite. So go ahead: you can't lose.
Edit: I *try* to always reply. Sorry if some slip through the cracks!
