I like puns and beer and the ache in my legs from climbing a mountain trail. I like to feel the pages of a book between my fingers and I like to spend all weekend in bed with a lover, just sheets and skin and sweat and the luxuriant power to give each other pleasure. I like math problems and goofy exercise programs and I like to laugh.
I am polyamorous: I think it's possible and desirable to enjoy more than one romantic, sexual relationship at the same time, with the full knowledge and consent of everybody involved.
I don't get jealous. I encourage the women in my life to follow their hearts and their lusts wherever those may lead, because I know that I am a man and a lover worth coming back to.
I finished my master's (in mathematics) at Western Washington University in June; come September I'll be off to England for more mathematics at Cambridge University. So exciting!
It's a bit sad to be leaving the Northwest behind after five great years. Maybe I'll be back someday; who can say? But until I go, I am game for any and all Northwest adventures you can propose.
And wherever I am, I'll be traveling, reading, enjoying my loved ones and my lovers, and becoming more Pagan every day.
Math, cooking, wandering, getting lost, getting found, philosophy, fun, puns, listening, sex (no, really. I'm very good).
Also broad of shoulder and square of jaw, but I think it's the height that grabs people's attention. One of the OKtrends posts claims that most men on this site exaggerate their heights by 2 inches. I don't; I've got no reason to.
Then I open my mouth, and people notice that I'm a total geek. I make no apologies.
Lots of science fiction and fantasy. Robert Heinlein, Cory Doctorow, Neal Stephenson, Frank Herbert, and such. I'm pickier about my fantasy. Lev Grossman's The Magicians is my current favorite: it's what Harry Potter should have been.
Mark Twain, Kate Chopin, Ernest Hemingway, and George Orwell.
The Story of O
Polyamory books: The Ethical Slut, Sex at Dawn, Marriage and Morals (by Bertrand Russell). Stranger in a Strange Land, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and Courtship Rites.
Ready Player One is AMAZING. Eccentric ultra-billionaire video game creator dies and bequeathes his entire fortune to whomever finds an easter egg in his game. It's chock-full of geek culture references, a total nerdgasm.
Anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger, especially the first Conan. The Addams Family, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ghostbusters, Trading Places, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Risky Business, Forbidden Planet, Water For Elephants, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Even-numbered Star Trek movies. The original Star Wars trilogy.
Mostly classical music, 70's metal, or the blues, depending on my mood. Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones; Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, JS Bach, Richard Strauss, Bruckner, Vivaldi. A lot of Flamenco, recently, too.
I love food. Grease and salt and fresh local veggies. Ethnic food, from Argentinian to Zimbabwean, and classic "American" stuff like meatloaf or funnel cakes. I love craft beer and red wine and small batch bourbon and dry gin martinis.
I do not eat mushrooms. Other than that, it's all good.
Tasty, tasty food
Grand hopes and dreams
Mostly math and women, though, I guess.
And I play D&D.
... you think I'm cool. Or hot. Or interesting. Or baffling. But not if you think I'm boring.
I always appreciate messages, and I always reply, because that's just polite. So go ahead: you can't lose.
Edit: I *try* to always reply. Sorry if some slip through the cracks!
