My self-summary
(Need to make it clear how absolutely awful I am at communicating online... anyone who knows me will attest to that! I'm honestly more normal in real life.. 😁)

Instead of writing a big block about myself, i'll just highlight the important stuff :-D

- usually shy at first, but not after a while. I have more than enough to say :-)

- love dogs (animals in general) more than people. But some people are tolerable. Some.

- love laughing and making others laugh, at pretty much anything!

- am a pretty good listener... I have absurdly high empathy levels.

- spends a lot of/too much time thinking about the nature of existence and the universe...

- INFJ personality if you're into that kind of thing...

- perennially dream of conquering this world and putting it to rights.

- have a crippling fear of spiders. Evil little tyrants.

- absolutely hate beer. Seriously, it's disgusting. Now, red wine... that's something else. And vodka. Or rum. Or patxaran.

- can spend an inordinate amount of time playing videogames or binge-watching a series in one day or just procrastinating and not feel bad about it.

- abhor racism, sexism, discrimination and inequality in all its shapes and sizes. Seriously, it makes me physically sick.

- enjoy long walks in the park, or anywhere really!

- own more than 4 Star Wars t-shirts. Among other items. But it's an important point - I love Star Wars :-D

- love castles more than beaches (but will tolerate the latter..)

- bakes the best freaking brownies you'll ever taste. Even more so with 'special' ingredients.

I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland, and before any questions - I consider myself Northern Irish, neither British nor Irish. I simply take the best from both worlds and leave behind the worst 😄
What I’m doing with my life
Good f**king question.
Teaching English while considering entering politics, studying a new degree, writing a novel? Who knows? I haven't figured out what I'm best at yet... I blame our education system for that. And myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - Satire in general; Catch 22, A Confederacy of Dunces, Slaughterhouse 5, Isaac Asimov, Blood Meridian and Cormac McCarthy in general, ASOIAF, LOTR, Harry Potter, SevenEves/Neal Stephenson, Blake Crouch.. To be honest, I left reading for a few years and have only recently come back to it! As long as it isn't romantic rubbish or 50 Shades then I'm fine!

Music - Basically everything! The Smiths, Beatles, Radiohead, 2pac, Childish Gambino, Velvet Underground, Japandroids, Serge Gainsbourg, The Ronettes, Sam Cooke, Vampire Weekend, Black Keys, Gorillaz, Beach House, Father John Misty, The National, Future Islands, Leon Bridges, The Clash, Major Lazer, The Coral, and the list will go on and on and on......

Movies - Star Wars, Monty Python, Science fiction, the Coen brothers, Aronofsky, Kurosawa, Star Wars, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Marvel etc would be a good place to start, independent films and anything a little on the curious/deep/philosophical side too... Complete cinéfilo ;-) and Star Wars.

TV - Game of Thrones, Cosmos, Father Ted, Spaced, Episodes, Arrested Development, Bob's Burgers, The Expanse, Legion, Lucifer, Brooklyn Nine Nine, South Park, Rick and Morty, Star Wars Rebels, Last Man on Earth, Dark Matter, American Gods, Last Week Tonight, Stranger Things, Bojack Horseman, The 100, Black Mirror, Black Books, Fargo/House of Cards/Daredevil/Netflix in general... and so so many more!

Food - pretty much anything except seafood (seriously, anything under the water) or offal... Indian, Italian, Mexican, Lebanese/Syrian being at the top of that list!

Games (this absolutely should be a category) - strategy games of any type! (Paradox games especially..), Star Citizen, Elder Scrolls, Telltale games, Battlefield, PS4, Mass Effect, Fallout, GTA, Arma and flight simulators. And lots of little games like Prison Architect, This War of Mine and Papers Please. If you don't think that games can (but not always obviously) be a form of art, good luck and try not to fall off your high horse!

It seems outrageous but I actually do have time for all this stuff! I just don't sleep very much :-D
Six things I could never do without
My nieces and nephews.
Science fiction/anything that opens the mind (Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michio Kaku, etc..)
The news (preferably of the BBC/NYT/Guardian variety)
My beautiful PC
Cheese (basically any type)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to get myself into a position to begin Galactic Conquest. It isn't going very well.

But mainly I think about... everything. I overthink, like many people these days. I consider falling asleep to be a daily challenge which I occasionally overcome.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually tired after work on Friday, so most probably at home watching something, preferably with some cheese. And a glass of wine. And some guacamole. And biscuits.. but I digress..
You should message me if
You haven't been absolutely terrified by my list of habits and characteristics :-D and you feel weirdly curious to know more (there are plenty more)..

You like your music like this:

Or if you can listen to this (one of my absolute favourite songs) and not stop yourself from dancing!
