My self-summary
Intelligent, relaxed, easy going guy with a sense of fun. The people I connect with are usually smart, passionate about whatever interests them, caring and have a good sense of humor.

Friends and family matter more to me than anything else.

I love to travel. Besides travelling all over Europe, I have been skiing in the Caucasus, rode through the English Moors in the back of a pickup truck, been behind the Iron Curtain and hitchhiked in the West Bank.

I love outdoor sports especially biking, running and cross country skiing, but I'll try just about anything. Indoors, I am an avid reader, love movies and listening to and making music.

It is not that important that you share my interests. I am looking for a woman who is passionate about what she likes and is open to new experiences. I love it when my partner introduces me to new things and I open up new worlds for her.

In my opinion a good relationship requires shared values. Curiosity, honesty and warmth rank high on my list. I also value flexibility. I am not high maintenance and I appreciate people who are not either.
What I’m doing with my life
Spending a lot of time with friends, family and meeting new people.

Professionally, I am an engineer. I enjoy my work, but it is not the center of my life right now. Recently, I've gotten involved in teaching and mentoring inner city teenagers and tutoring my niece. It is extremely gratifying in a way office work never could be.
I’m really good at
Telling stories and jokes.
Being there for people
Playing with dogs
I think I am a pretty fair guitar player.
Writing, when the spirit moves me.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I'll tell you what people say they notice about me. I think most people notice that I'm tall. Next I think they consider me to be intelligent and to have a kind disposition. More discerning people will notice my sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Cryptonomicon, Everything is Illuminated, Primo Levi, John Steinbeck
Movies: Ordinary People, Shawshank Redemption, Bull Durham, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Goodfellas, Blazing Saddles, Flirting with Disaster
TV: Cheers, Seinfeld, Arrested Development (I have a thing for comedy).
Food: Mexican (I am always on the lookout for Chile Rellenos as good as I had in New Mexico), Middle Eastern (especially Amba sauce, which I can only find in a few places). I could go on and on about food.
Music: Eclectic. I'm always looking for something interesting.
Six things I could never do without
Good Food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to do this weekend.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday nights vary. I just like doing something mellow with friends. My office has parties most Fridays afternoons, so I've usually had a beer and some food by the time I leave. By the time I get home I kind of had a fun evening already, but I don't want to be alone. Meeting a friend for a movie or a cup of coffee is just fine.

Saturday I'm up for more of an adventure. That could be going out to an interesting restaurant, seeing some live entertainment or going to a movie with friends. But really, I'm up for just about anything anyone suggests.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Nah..It's a two way street, you have to admit something to me too.
You should message me if
you are smart, romantic and sensitive with a good sense of humor.
