My friends say that I have a great sense of humor, a positive and upbeat outlook on life and I am loyal and stable. But they are my friends so what do you expect them to say?
I'm nothing if not adaptable. That comes from traveling the world in everything from a push bike to a yacht. Of course, I have also traveled by the more conventional train, plane, bus, ocean liner, automobile and camel.
35 countries 6 continents... consequently I have seen a few things and have some good stories to tell... (For those that are into travel adventure stories). So travel and seeing how the rest of the worlds people live ... and die... has been a big part of shaping my belief system. It certainly seems to give me perspective in the hustle and bustle of my Toronto life.
Most who know me agree I see thing differently than the average person..
I actually grew up on yacht in Australia and consider myself a pretty good sailor. I sometimes race in international regattas with a team of friends for fun and glory. But at heart, I'm a cruiser not a racer, for me it's the path taken not just the destination.
Like most Australians I love the ocean. I have salt water in my veins... I surf, I sail, I snorkel I swim and fish... and of course I miss that over here. Sigh.
I sound like I must be wanderer, but I'm actually quite grounded. I have a house here in Downtown Toronto were I live, a couple of kids, dog, cats full time job and a 100 acres of forest in the Creamore/Collingwood area.
But I have digressed...Back to me being adaptable... I think that I can rock a leather jacket or a Hugo Boss suit.
sit on surf board or in a corporate board.
out drink a trucker, or sip green tea with grandma.
climb a cliff or put kids to bed.
rock out on the dance floor or curl up on the couch with a book.
write poems in a coffee house or lift weights at the gym.
renovate a house or write environmental policy.
be one of the boys or lead the team.
be kind and strong.
swing a chainsaw or a banner.
drive a car or ride a bike.
be romantic and sensitive as well as strong and powerful
I can be serious without taking myself seriously
An adventurous soul looking for the same. Someone to share life's experiences with in a way that enhances them.
Snowshoeing on my land up north then to the out door spa for a steam and hot tub. Surfing a wave on a deserted Austrailian beach. Snorkeling a reef with underwater creatures. Sailing a blue ocean. Searching the alleyways of Toronto for undiscovered graffiti art. Hitting the Horseshoe to see a local band.
Realizing the adventure of meeting a new and beautiful soul for a first date... and not knowing where it will end up.
I'm a professional Environmentalist and I have a great job working to protect the worlds endangered forests. I get to campaign, negotiate and travel and make a lasting difference to the planet I live on.
I guess I want my time here on this planet to make a difference. To be able to leave knowing that -- what I have accomplished has made the world a better place. As small as the accomplishments are in the face of the reality -- It's important to me.
Searching for fun and adventure and the right person to share it with.
