My self-summary
In a team meeting in school, we had to discuss our Myers-Briggs personality types. The last sentence of the description of mine said, "Champions are positive, exuberant people, and often their confidence in the goodness of life and of human nature makes good things happen." I love that description of me, and I try to live by it. Having said that, my faith in the goodness of people is tested rather a lot these days, and I recognize the amount of hard work we have to do to move forward together.

I'm a geek at heart. I'm a techie and love taking in pop culture, but my parents have instilled in me a great appreciation of traveling and the outdoors. I like to think I'm a pretty nice guy, but I have a very biting sense of humor and a wicked side to boot. I have a great appreciation for the arts but sadly not the talent to equal it. I don't drink all that often, but when I do whiskey and craft beers are my drinks of choice. Curiosity drives me, and I'm always up for trying to figure out how to do something I've never done before. I love roller derby and try to NSO when I can, but I'm on a bit of a hiatus right now.

I'm big on sex-positivity, body-positivity, and feminism. I try my best to be introspective and intersectional. The election has driven me to be more active, which is a great thing. Currently I've been volunteering for the ACLU. I'm also very interested in the issue of equality and diversity within the tech community.

I'm in a committed, ethically non-monogamous relationship with a wonderful woman. I am available for any number of types of connections, but I want to be upfront about being in a relationship from the start. More than anything, I am just looking to meet awesome new friends and people to be active with in the area, whether it be platonic or date-like.
What I’m doing with my life
I currently work as a solutions architect for a pretty amazing tech company in Conshohocken. I get to work with major companies and face interesting challenges, and that keeps me engaged and driven.

I have a passion for education, technology, digital media and media literacy, and a few of my side endeavors currently focus on that.

I also have a ton of hobbies that I never have time to really keep up with like traveling, photography, writing, Rock Band, Quizzo, writing, card and board games, film, exploring new places, German, etc.
I’m really good at
Computers and technology. Problem solving and writing algorithms. Researching how to do things I don't know how to do. Wordsmithing. Carrying myself with an appropriate amount of professionalism. Carrying myself with an inappropriate amount of humor. Winning at the claw game in arcades. Generally being in the right place at the right time.
The first things people usually notice about me
As I mentioned, I can be very satirical, and so I am often cracking the wise. Also, I'm generally a pretty light-hearted and easy-going guy, so I am usually pretty approachable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As you can tell from these lists, I am fan of pop culture. I love a good story told, regardless of the medium.

Six things I could never do without
my friends and family, occasional peace, challenging work, runner's high, pop culture, passion
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I am going in life, how I got to where I am, and how the world around me is doing. I also spend a lot of time problem-solving and trying to come up with the most efficient ways to do things.

How to understand and check my privilege more. How to best make a difference. How to stay active while still staying sane too.
On a typical Friday night I am
This could be so many things: seeing a concert, catching a good movie, traveling, going to Citizen's Bank Park, hanging out with friends, finding a place to sing some entertaining karaoke, attending one of the awesome fests (like Science Week or Beer Week) that Philly has to offer, etc. I'm always in motion, so I always treasure my down time too.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Proper usage of a semicolon turns me on; I just can't help it.

I'm kind, caring, compassionate, and kinkier than you'd expect.

Mallory Ortberg is my spirit animal.
You should message me if
Well, if I did my job writing this profile (and you did your job reading it), you should have a pretty decent sense of whether or not we'd get along. And if one of us didn't do our job but you still have a sense you'd like to talk a little further, that definitely works too. I just love getting to know new people, so feel free to say hi.

Mostly I am just looking for awesome new people who are genuine, passionate about something (especially if you will teach me about it), open-minded, equality-minded and sex-positive. Also, you shouldn't mind a hyphen here or there.

Finally, if you wanna start a group that goes to German beer halls throughout the city and practices speaking German, let me know.
