My self-summary
Hi, I'm Thaddeus Drechsler, but please, feel free to call me Tad! I'm 23, living right now up in the wonders of the north minnesotan wilderness. It has its pros and cons, but either way, I'm outie! Some time in mid Dec I'm coming down to the metro, to pursue one of my long time loves: kung fu! I know it's kinda nerdy, but I feel that it's at least a more constuctive hobby than most of the things I do, so why not try it out? Other than that...I play guitar and sing (another reason for my move, I can actually find people to play with and places to play down there!) various types of music. Music is really my #1 love. I get into all kinds of things, some folk, some reggae, and alot of alt rock as well as traditional world music and a little little bit of rap and techno. I like to consider myself as a world scholar, that meaning I haven't yet found a way to afford college, so get my education on my own. My friends all say that I have the worst case of lead singer syndrome ever. I like to be the center of attention, and can pretty much be downright silly. I like to sing and dance and make funny faces, and get lots of chances to just be a goof at work. I work with Developmentally Disabled Adults right now, and the residents at the home I work at are the sweetest people I know! Working with them has been a huge influence on who I am.

I am easygoing, ambitious, and a touch eccentric
What I’m doing with my life
I think that I'm in a major growing phase. I've started to evaluate the things that I do, and trying to kind of revamp myself, make some improvements. I'm quitting smoking, #1! It's a real pain, but I'm getting there! Also, as previously stated, I'm moving to Minneapolis to pursue the study of kung fu, praying mantis style to be exact. I'm hoping to learn enough to open a school of my own one day, and teach kung fu. Other than that, I'm working on building the two things I'm finding to be more and more important to me: a solid career, and a family.

I want to learn Chi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga, about 12 forms of Kung Fu, and Chinese medicine. Just to start...
I’m really good at
I'm a very patient person. I've spent the last year working with Developmentally Disabled Adults, and I'd say that it takes a certain kind of person to do this kind of work. You need to be a very patient and loving person to do well here, and over the last year I've managed to cultivate those qualities in myself and watch them grow.

I'm also good at smiling, spreading peace, and loving.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm very polite. While with friends, or people I know pretty well I'm very laid back, but I'm sure every elderly person I meet smiles inside and thinks "what a nice young man!" I find myself constantly holding doors and greeting strangers, I think some people don't know how to respond either!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This could be a long list. I read ALOT, and listen to music ALOT, so I'll just list the tops.

Authors: Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, Terry Brooks, George R.R. Martin, Tolkien and John Marco to name a few.
I also read books on eastern philosophy and martial arts, usually published by the YMAA.

Some top bands are: The Get Up Kids, Alkaline Trio, Saves the Day, Iron and Wine, Devendra Banhart, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bob Dylan, Sublime, Slightly Stoopid etc etc etc...

I don't watch alot of TV, cable is just not practical to me. I do love movies, comedy, action, and old school kung fu. I'm trying to learn Chinese so I can watch kung fu without the subtitles...
Six things I could never do without
1. MUSIC! Thankfully, I always have a song stuck in my head.
2. Food. Without it, I would starve.
3. Water. I get thirsty you know!
4. Sleep. I work the graveyard, so this one gets hard.
5. My guitar. Pawned my old one, BIG mistake!
6. 420. Sad but true, it's a major part of who I am.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Who I am, what I'm doing, and why?

Ways to beat up aliens.

Living in a town larger than 1000 people.

I also contemplate the existance of man/the universe, and things related to that. I've gotten into reading about holistic healing and eastern philosophy.
On a typical Friday night I am
At work, I have no life. It's been months since I had a day off that was worth going out on, I usually have to work at 11pm every weekend. The life of a working man is lonely...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm really not that private of a person...if you want to know, feel free to ask!
You should message me if
You think that I'm a cool guy.
