My self-summary
I was born in New York City, but I spent the first third of my life on flights back and forth between New York, Sweden, and Southern Africa (Lesotho).

I spent the second third of my life, my formative years, in Sweden. Mostly running around with animals in the woods, messing around roadying for my friends' bands, competing who could be the most egalitarian, and you know, hanging out in the "alt"/hipster part of Stockholm, drinking cheap beer/vodka and thinking I knew something about the world.

I’ve spent the third third of my life based in NYC. This place gives me the perfect balance of bliss and misery. There’s always something to do here if you have the urge to find it. In the great words of Frank Reynolds “I don’t know how many years on this earth I’ve got left, but I’m gonna get real weird with it.”
What I’m doing with my life
I used to work in sales, but decided it was slowly draining my soul. Now I fidget with and put together code like a kid plays with Legos. No complaints.

To date I’ve been to over fifty countries, and I’m finding that I'm more and more going back to ones I’ve already been to.

I’m currently planning a few trips that might happen in the next year. Some will fall through, but some will be completed:

1. An Iceland, Sweden, Germany, France trip. Everytime I go back to Sweden I try to cram some extra destinations in. Will hopefully have time to take trains between Sweden - France.
2. I’m researching if canoeing or rafting the Mississippi is doable. So far I think it’s mostly a matter of finding the time. I might just make a raft party down some river in New York state instead.
3. I haven’t been to South America yet… An opportunity for something new.
4. Kayaking in Maine. I really want to see Orcas in the wild.
5. A family trip to the Caribbean
I’m really good at
I just got lead climbing certified and I’m pretty excited about that.

I like lifting heavy things and putting them back down. Always looking for a good gym buddy.

I’ve recently gotten into beekeeping. Just a little bit. I’m excited to see if my (my brother and I’s) hive makes it to next summer.

Gotten into cooking over the last couple years. Croc pots are awesome.

I pride myself in giving and enjoying giving a good massage. When I was seventeen I almost completed an education to become a massage therapist, but kinda bailed when I realized I didn’t want to touch old people for money. I’ve since then been a very happy amateur masseur.

I'm coming up on a decade of practice in being a dom in a bdsm context. It's something I like but it's not the be all end all.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I learned to read in Calvin and Hobbes, The Little Prince, and comics about Buddhism. I was a weird kid but those ‘books’ are really dear to me.

I try to read a few books every month, but for the last few months I’ve been trying to slog through the bible cover to cover. I feel I need to read what all the hubbub of christianity is about (I’m almost done and I have to say I’m kinda terrified.)

Update: I finished the bible cover to cover. It was literally terrifying.

I have pretty standard movie taste. If it's regarded a good movie I probably like it. Movies I recommend to people that most people haven't seen: Big River Man, Black Cat White Cat, Dread.

I'm organizing a small production of The Nightman Cometh for a friends party, so obviously I love Always Sunny.
I'm on the Rick and Morty train with the other 99% of the world right now. But mostly a bunch of documentaries.

I’m very easy to please when it comes to food. If I didn’t think the term ‘foodie’ was a bit silly I’d probably call myself one.

I have a backlog of games in my steam library much longer than I care to admit.
Six things I could never do without
Something to read
Hot sauce
Something unexpected
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life the universe and everything. My responsibilities in the world and if we are totally fucked or not. It’s looking dark but the jury is still out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually a pretty even split between:
Out of town somewhere
Out on the town somewhere
Staying in with some good company and a matching meal
or recovering
You should message me if
You think it'd be fun. You want to go do something fun.

Also, I'm a bit sad that things are this way, but I feel that it helps when I point this out; I know that you don't owe me anything. No amount of rejection, not answering my messages, not being into me, etc, will ever upset me. I'm not entitled to your energy or attention and I won't act like I am.
