I guess that I should mention that I am heavily tattooed. Also, I am a jeans (or shorts) and t-shirt type guy. I do own a couple of button ups if the occasion calls for it, sigh. I prefer to be barefoot or in sandals. Honestly, I am at that age where I prefer comfort over style. I am never going to cut my hair again and I threw away my razor many a moons ago.
I guess I should also mention what I am looking for in a new friend and/or possible mate. First of all, I would like to say that everyone is beautiful in their own way. I find it sad that our society puts so much emphasis on beauty, size, and style. What I find attractive in a woman is how happy she is in her own skin...I am happy with who I am and how I look, I hope that she would be happy with who she is also. I try to live my life as a Kind, open minded, compassionate, non-judgmental, and generous human being...those are qualities that I love and look for in other people, especially in a mate. I love intelligence in a friend/mate, but not if it comes with arrogance. How you treat your fellow human beings will tell me more about you and what kind of person you are more than anything. Also, I prefer to be around people with a mostly positive vibe. Free spirits and hippies welcome!
In my downtime, I enjoy going to concerts, shows, and music festivals. I spend a lot of time with my nose buried in books. I like to trout fish, but never seem to have the time to do so. I don't drink, but on special occasions, I do like to smoke herb. I am a Virginia Tech sports fan, but I am not a fanatic. I like all the normal things like going out for dinner, seeing movies, spending time with Mother Nature, etc.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. :)
Here are a few things that that one might not like about me. I am a smoker, it is what it is. I can be kind of shy and quiet until I get to know someone.
Bands I listen to more than other bands:
1. Grateful Dead (and many of the off-shoot Dead bands like Furthur, Phil and Friends, Ratdog, John K. Band, DSO, etc.)
2. Gov't Mule (and any project that Warren Haynes becomes involved with.)
3. The Black Crowes (And it's off-shoots like CRB, Trigger Hippy, etc.)
4. Allman Brothers Band
6. Crosby, Stills, and Nash (and Young)
7. The Band/Levon Helm
8. Pink Floyd
9. Tedeschi Trucks Band
10. Bob Dylan
Oh, and I am a huge Eddie Vedder fan.
As far as reading goes, I read mostly fiction. I love to read! I think that walking around Barnes and Noble (with an iced chai tea in hand) comparing authors enjoyed makes for a great first date. Some of my favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk, John Twelve Hawks, Dan Wells, Thomas Maltman, Thomas Harris, Anne Rice, and Andrew Vachss. Two of my favorite novels are "Birdy" by William Wharton and "The Gargoyle" by Andrew Davidson.
Food? I love to eat and enjoy trying new foods. If I go out to eat, it is usually something ethnic like Thai or Indian.
Movies...Some of my favorites are Seven Pounds, Leaving Las Vegas, Lost in Translation, Dallas Buyers Club, The Crow, The Jacket, The Snowwalker, Moonrise Kingdom, Up in the Air, Into the Wild, St. Vincent, and Wild (with Reese Witherspoon)
2. A really good book
3. Music..many genres, whatever fits my mood
4. My cat Cali
5. Open mindedness
6. My quest for knowledge
7. Nag Champa incense. (Yes, that is a seventh thing.)
Also if this applies to you: "Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair."
*Just a note...please do not message me if you are a racist and/or homophobe, thanks.
One thing that really bothers me is when people are snobby and/or judgmental. No one is any better than anyone else...we are just all different. Understand? I don't look down my nose at anyone, period. Please don't message me if you are a snob, thanks.
