My self-summary
Hmm how do I sum myself up?

I'm an open minded young chap called Alex who likes to relax and chill out (without sounding too early 90s).

I have rather eclectic tastes in lots of things, particularly films, music, books. and video games I like learning about history and archaeology too (unfortunately you can't do a degree in playing video games (if you can please show this to me).

I'm quite a talkative person and loud person, but I like to think that I try to be conscientious when I first meet someone - I might seem very normal when you first meet, but the more I get to know someone the odder the things that come out of my mouth become. In a good way (if being dark and jokey and generally saying pretty grim things is good?)

I also love being able to nerd out about stuff with other people, and share in the geekdom - particularly with films, but I think I can hold up a conversation about most things, not matter how weird.

I like socialising and a good drink now and then, and I also follow a few sports, although I save any nerdiness about them for people willing to listen to anything eccentric and geeky about, say, The Wire, or a million other things.

I've also got a kind and understanding side, who will sit and listen and process. Sometimes I might even come up with a solution to whatever is bothering you!

All in all, I'm young and fun and I give AMAZING hugs (or glomps, if you like glomping)
What I’m doing with my life
I've graduated from university, and I used all the wisdom, insight and life experience I got from doing that to continue to do admin cover work in the NHS.
I’m really good at
I'm a bit of a jack of all trades me. I do give good back and foot massages (in case Tarantino is looking for a tubby brit for his next film ;)

I'm can play guitar (poorly) and bass (less poorly), so don't expect any serenading (unless you want your ears to bleed or you really, really like Superstition by Stevie Wonder)

Some of my more useless talents involve playing video games, partlicularly games from 10 years ago that no one cares about any more (Crash Bandicoot, if I could I would marry you). I also have a pretty encyclopedic knowledge of some TV series (such as South Park, which I have quoted randomly and excessively around friends to the point that they don't like watching it any more), and also Game of Thrones (I've read the books too)

Yes I know I'm a lazy nerd, but that brings me onto my biggest talent - lazing around and chilling out. Particularly with other people.

I'm also quite good at not being able to drink milk :(
The first things people usually notice about me
My height, breadth, and ability to give good hugs!

And also maybe being a little too blunt!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Hmm well I like lots of things (even though I can be very critical of art, particularly films I can find it very hard to let go of problems or errors with the film (Iron Man 3 is a very good examploe of this). Here's a list of shit that I like from books, tv, film, graphic novels etc:

Game of Thrones (and the books)
Cowboy Bebop
Princess Mononoke
The Wire
Boardwalk Empire
This is England
True Grit
The Hurt Locker
Peep Show
Arrested Development
Breaking Bad
Rick and Morty
House of Cards
Orange is the New Black
Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter (the books, can't stand the films I just want to face fist Daniel Radcliffe, the short jammy twat)
Archer (danger zone?)
The Boondocks
Black Dynamite

As to music, I think Rumours by Fleetwood Mac is my favourite album, which is a bit of cheesy choice but fuck it, it's good. I love Blood Mountain by Mastodon and Led Zeppelin by, err, Led Zeppelin. Also Random Access Memories by Daft Punk, not sure if that's me just going on with the hype or whether I genuinely like it (I like all of Daft Punk's album mind - time will tell). Musically I'm quite into Rammstein at the moment, but I like bands like:

Led Zeppelin
Fleetwood Mac
Red Fang
The Sword
Alice in Chains
Black Sabbath
The Beatles (duh)
Jefferson Airplane
Less than Jake
Reel Big Fish
Dropkick Murphys
Gaelic Storm
Also the Juno film soundtrack
The Black Keys
Ray Charles
Johnny Cash
The Clash
The Beat
Pink Floyd

Wow my tastes are way more alternative than I thought they were. I will dance to club stuff mind, just need copious amounts of alcohol in me.

Also, I spend free time on Steam. I play lots of games, but primarily L4D2 and other similar source games and Total War games, but i dabble in League of Legends too. If anyone wants a game I'm happy to oblige.

Contrary to the lazy things that I largely like to do, I also like leaving the house and doing things like everyone else! I like fine dining (look at my tummy, for goodness' sake!), long walks in the country side, going to gigs (particularly rock and metal, but I like electronic, jazz, blues, lots of stuff), and also a good night out (although I prefer the drinking part where you might be able to sit down and hold a conversation at a tolerable volume, as opposed to having to pay to get in or put your coat anywhere, overpriced drinks and watching skinnier younger prettier than you have a funner time than you're having).
Six things I could never do without
.... My right hand??
But seriously - it's very useful I use it to write and stuff :(

Well I assume answering stuff like 'water' and 'food' goes without saying, but I honestly don't think I need six things constantly in my life.

Yes my computer with access to the internet is very nice but I think I could live without it.

My bass guitar, again is very sexy when clean but when the strings need changing and there's dust between the pickups and the strings and you can't reach it because you have sausage fingers well then I just want to put the damn thing down :(.

I suppose I'm going to fuck the police and chose one thing that I want and that's access to music - often if I'm thinking something through or my emotions are running high, I find music either helps deal with or contextualise my problems - so it makes me feel much better!

However I know that I need access to the internet for that so I suppose that I'd have to include that too - and with all the perks that comes with ^_^
I spend a lot of time thinking about
LOTS of things - my mind wanders a lot - I find it hard to focus, but I really enjoy exploring where my thoughts lead me, whether good or bad. I over analyse things (particularly people on the radio or films/tv shows LOTS. My family find this very annoying (I like to think it's because I'm right most of the time).

So I often think about, well, stories - whether I've found them in films, or books, or video games, and my mind often wonders onto something i've experienced - fictitious or not - and it can mash the two together.

So this often ends up with me making my own plots in my head but with influences from different places. I've got like 15 stories in my head at the moment? But I haven't written much down (gotta love inertia)

I also think about normal stuff, like whether clouds of dragon people living in them and they use that as their primary mode of transport, and that they're polluting the world with oxygen, allowing us in turn to thrive, whilst also explaining why many cultures in history have had obsessions with dragons.
On a typical Friday night I am
Currently this is house cleaning night -_-

This needs to change.

I like going to the pub, cinema, for a meal, but I love going out to a gig and rocking it up and moshing if there is a chance :D.

But the alt scene is a bit shit in Hertfordshire from my experience.

Sometimes I just like to stay in and shoot the breeze, and think about how stars are actually unwanted teddy bears, and they're actually organising themselves in an assault on the earth, unilaterally and simultaneously to punish all the rotten children.

(I'm safe I still have all my teddy bears)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have re-evaluated this area most. After deciding that I have no filter and have had a few way too open things shared in this section, I think I'm just gonna talk about something else, like did you know that there was once a chicken who lived for eighteen months without a head, and that prince charles is actually a lizard?

But what is even greater is my fear that these two will one day interbreed and combine to make the most frightening creature imaginable.

Huh I suppose that could be classified as something i'm willing to admit..
You should message me if
You're looking someone to play video games with

Or if you're looking for someone to have bizarre imaginative conversations with, who is also very loyal and understanding.
