My self-summary
You know, I've had this phrase in my profile for the longest time: "Looking for a LTR with someone local. No long distance." And so of course, what just happened? I found the love of my life, we did it long distance for a year and a half, and now we're shacked up together in California. Frakkin' ironic, isn't it? :)
What I’m doing with my life
Living la vida ursa in San Diego. Previously I've lived in the East Village and Chelsea, and Philadelphia and San Fran/Oakland, and Poughkeepsie, and Zürich, Switzerland.

I'm an ex-organizer of local bisexual groups in New York, Philly and San Francisco, and I do very occasional volunteering with the group in San Diego. I've headed the African-American alumni association of my alma mater in the past. I also help random strangers with their computer problems.
I’m really good at
Making friends and acquaintances.
Recalling maddening bits of trivia, esp. from 70's/80's TV.
The first things people usually notice about me
When I'm with friends: my piercing, boisterous laugh.
When I'm alone: my quiet intensity.
The six things I could never do without
Playing tennis.
Public transportation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Tennis, my upcoming wedding in 2014, taking a real vacation one of these days, convergence, my NPR addiction, the war, our crumbling US educational system.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing tennis with like-minded LGBT individuals at the public tennis club; eating something delicious in a moderately expensive restaurant.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I give the impression of being The Guy That Makes The First Move, but I'm actually The Guy Who Hangs Back And Doesn't Make A Move. Please use this information responsibly. :-)
