My self-summary
First things first:
Thanks to OkCupid .. yes, it worked! .. my life is blissfully filled with love. I am no longer seeking romantic relationships of any sort.

I'm married and have a teen-aged daughter. We're polyamorous, with no plans to separate or divorce, and anyone becoming more than a casual playmate will need to interact with my family and lovers.

“It is like a lighted torch whose flame can be distributed to ever so many other torches which people may bring along; and therewith they will cook food and dispel darkness, while the original torch itself remains burning ever the same. It is even so with the bliss of the Way.”

Now for the personal stuff:
I'm healthy (except for some arthritis in my knees—I won't be running the marathon this week), intelligent, very widely read, and eloquent. I have a professional career that brings in a comfortable salary (and sometimes requires extensive travel). I'm a poet and author, a public speaker, a former actor. I'm loving, affectionate, sensual, and kind.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a practicing Vajrayana Buddhist. I'm learning the Tantra and dancing in the sky.

I work as a project management consultant for a Fortune 10 corporation .. but I work at client sites the vast majority of the time, so the badge I have on is almost always for some other company.

I spend a lot of my free time journaling, writing poetry and fiction, and reading. Stuff you can do in a hotel room.
I’m really good at
listening, understanding, supporting, sharing joy

I'm really good at seeing the world from other perspectives, compassionately understanding other people's perceptions. That does not mean I agree or approve, of course....

Have you've seen the old sci-fi television series "Firefly"? Remember the Companions? Well, some Companions are male. And if that makes no sense, well .. maybe we should talk about it, perhaps over tea....
The first things people usually notice about me
My shirt buttons .. and then they look up to see my gray goatee and wild hair, blue eyes, and happy smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read everything from Austen to Zelazny. "Voracious" is an understatement. When we remodeled a few years ago we added a library to the house .. yes, a dedicated room for our books. And it's overflowing! Time to remodel again? I'm currently reading Keith Dowman's Sky Dancer; the Secret Life and Songs of the Lady Yeshe Tsogyel. (Now I need to remember to keep this up-to-date!)

Movies: My travel is getting in way this summer .. my family and my lovers and I want to see many movies together but none of us have enough time together! I love costume dramas, thrillers, documentaries, and some rom-coms (yes, really). I dislike horror and slapstick comedy. I enjoy quite a lot of Asian imports; Miyazaki Hayao is consistently a delight. Summer blockbuster mindless action is a guilty pleasure.

Shows: I love musical theatre; we were supporting members of CLOSBC while it lasted. Wicked is the last stage show I've seen, tho. (Oop, not true any more! I saw a local production of Fame on a date the other night. The date was far better than the production.)

Music: Classic and prog rock, witty hip-hop and country, electronica .. eclectic is the word here.

Food: Oh myyy .. I love to eat and drink. Rather like the books, I can't begin to list the types; I love flavorful foods: savory, spicy .. but I also fully appreciate more subtle pleasures like sushi. I usually have wine with dinner, and can't afford my taste....
Six things I could never do without
Refuge, renunciation, bodhichitta, the Guru, bliss, and emptiness.

Okay, that was both glib and obscure. Sorry! ^_^

The six hardest things for me to abandon would be
* Cuddles (physical touch of all sorts)
* Good food and drink
* Solitude (ooo, an inconsistency?)
* Intimacy and trust
* Polyamory (the true sort, not "polyfuckery")
* the Vajrayana (see the glib bit above)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what a bodhisattva would be thinking about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Unpacking from a business trip, wishing I had something else to do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like sex a lot .. but for a Tantric practitioner in his 50s, it manifests a little differently from the way it does for a guy in his 20s. Many women find it better .. but not all.
You should message me if want to have an interesting conversation, get to know a strange but friendly fellow, and are willing to take the risk you we might like each other enough to (gasp) speak on the phone and then even (oh no!) meet in person.
The two of us
