My self-summary
Nuclear physicist by profession, poet by passion, a good amateur cook, a scientist of feelings & emotions, a lonely traveler and a silly carpenter. My ethnic background is Mexican, Spanish and French. I studied my career in Mexico and Belgium. I consider the latter as my second home.

I live in a house located on a small town surrounded by mountains more than 2,900 meters above the sea level. A favorable nice place to watch the stars at night. A cold and rather unpredictable weather for the country standards.

Self-considered a well-traveled gentleman I've been in the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and so on. 😁
What I’m doing with my life
At the moment I work part-time as the manager on my parents' business.

I used to write rigorous scientific papers on nuclear science education and also authored a book on problem solving in the same area.

I'm the creator of a rather famous YouTube Channel in which I broadcast my research on scientific skepticism subjects. Search: Bal Herrera on YouTube if you dare! I'm not fully interested on those topics anymore.

As a poet my first work was the publication of a book of sonnets in Spanish. On January, I published another set of poems in English.
I’m really good at
Speaking, solving problems, writing sonnets and poetry in general, telling jokes, planning trips, being polite and educated in every appropriate situation.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes because of their size and my wide shoulders.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket, Nailed, Stripping the Gurus, The Bible Unearthed, A New Kind of Science, The Theory of Relativity.

Movies: Pi, Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Mind, Primer, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Taxi Driver, movies about space travel.

TV Shows: South Park, Sasuke, Pawn Stars, The Simpsons, some MMA events, several shows on Discovery, History Channel, National Geographic.

Music: lots of one hit wonders and selected themes from all over the world and many types of musical styles. Ask me! :-D

Food: Strictly gluten and dairy free.

My practiced sports and hobbies include: 800 m, 1,500 m and 5,000 m running, martial arts, skateboarding, rollerblading, air rifle shooting, chess and video gaming. I currently practice swimming and 1 km running, also basketball when I have the time to do so.
Six things I could never do without
Body and mind, clean clothes, deodorant, soap, dental floss.

As you can infer from my answer, I'm a very organized and clean type of person. I think that maintaining mess all over is a negative reflection of yourself and a sign that there is something wrong inside.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future, how to fulfill my projects and how to focus on becoming the best possible that I can be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Taking a shower, watching TV or reading some interesting article.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know but you can ask about something specific. I'm quite honest about me. I think honesty is a scarce virtue in the world.
You should message me if
You would like to know more about me.

I'm looking for a nice friendship to start with. If we get along you are welcome to visit me in my country or I can visit you if you invite me. :-)
