I am a single, retired 67 year young natural redhead who enjoys the simple pleasures of life and am looking for a happy man who would also like a companion for the "golden" years.
I am spunky, eternally cute, authentic, quick witted, self-educated.
I still consider old fashioned values, well, values. I have read recently that "please" and "thank you" are disappearing from our vocabulary.
I would like someone with a cultured mind, speech and manner. Humble yet strong in a gentle way. Someone in touch with spirituality and it's magic.
Again, a man who is happy with himself. A man who also knows himself. Someone who has taken the Joseph Campell "Hero" journey into the dark places of the soul and have found the way back out into the light and realized that it was a journey worth taking as you have come out with yourself in tact.
Someone who likes to engage in a stimulating conversation.
I am very eclectic in my interests and they cover a large area of subjects.
Someone who is authentic and down to earth. Someone who loves nature and reverence animals as our brothers and sisters.
I can look at a situation and see right away what needs to be done. I was raised around down to earth, common sense southern people and was completely taken aback when I got out into the "real" world and found most people do not have it! I thought it came with the package...guess not. Common sense in a man is very high on my list.
Once I start talking, people listen to me.
I am a voracious reader reading usually 2 or 3 books at the same time.
Some of my favorite authors are: Anne Rice, Jonh Steinbeck, Umberto Eco, C.J. Sansom, Philippa Gregory, John Irving, Tom Robbins, Kate Mosse, Harry Turtledove and Barbara Kingsolver and Elene Pagels, to name a few.
I would say some of my favorite books are: Gone With the Wind, Foucault's Pendulum, Pillers of the Earth, The World According to Garp, and I could go on and on, but I won't.
I love old movies, especially the film noir type, I like to watch cerebral themed movies and television shows. I love PBS for the calilber of programing they provide.
I like a good, fast paced thriller once in a while.
I like to listen to 88.5 KPLU as they have great programs.
I listen to KING radio as well, as I love classical music.
But I also love, rock and roll, rhythm and blues, jazz (lots) broadway show tunes, I am very eclectic in my tastes. I don't really get into hip-hop.
I love food of all kinds, I could be better on broadening my tastes to the more exotic, but have not had the opportunity. I am open to new things.
