My self-summary
I like strawberries, the movie Amelie, and awe-inspiring scenery. I graduated college from a very conservative university: Texas A&M (in what is lovingly called "Closet station".. really it's "college station, TX"). Needless to say, I didn't click with a lot of people down there even though I grew up in Texas. Not that being conservative... or even religious... is bad (though I probably disagree with them more often than not), I know some very reasonable and awesome conservatives and christians... it's when they get to the religious right that I start to cringe.

I now go to school at UMD for my PhD in physics, and while I'm not a huge fan of College Park, I do like DC and being further up north... with the exception of not being in Austin, TX. But having grown up in an area full of fundamentalists and seeing some of the follies of ignorance, I've come to really value critical thinking; I champion rationality and open-mindedness as much as I can.

Despite that, I am all for fully embracing my humanity even when it is irrational.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in PhD candidate in physics. I plan to graduate and get a post-doc or two. From there, I hope to eventually move into academia and get a job as a professor, so that I can teach and do research. I'm also developing a plan B if the whole professor thing doesn't work out, but I'm sure I'll be okay since I don't think I'll be unemployed with a physics PhD. (Right?)
I’m really good at
Well, physics and math, of course. I'm quite good at drawing when I get myself to actually do it, and I used to be quite good at painting. I'm creative (you gotta be for math and physics). I'm good at weaving together a story that is intriguing, epic, and thoughtful (though I'm working on the writing part). I'm also relatively good at computers.

Oh and being a perfectionist; I'm really good at that... much to my dismay sometimes.
The first things people usually notice about me
The laser coming out of my head. Ironically, it is also the last thing people notice about me.

Six things I could never do without
-A pen and paper
-Love from friends and family
-Acceptance from the ones I love most
-My mind
-A new book to read/learn from.
-The back and forth of emotion and reason.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My career, physics, entanglement and it's relation to mixed states, non-linear sigma model, Casimir effect for condensed matter systems, topological insulators, Kondo topological insulators, random matrix theory, symmetric spaces and classifications of Hamiltonians, quantum geometry, coherent state path integrals, quantum graphs, the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis, many-body localization, and Floquet systems.

I think too much -- but have started concentrating more on physics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Who knows???
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I liked all of the..... matrix movies. (And I feel the shame every day)
You should message me if
You can do a hand stand while simultaneously juggle-eating peaches with a single hand.

Barring that... OK, you can message me if you wanna meet up, talk, play board games, go on an adventure, or just have a gay old time.
