My self-summary
Time for an update! Who is this odd creature with the weird nickname, you ask? Well first, go and watch this:

Good, now we're on the same page. So some basics about me: I'm college-educated, have a full-time job, live by myself with no roommates and no pets (I'm allergic to both cats and dogs, unfortunately), and I'm genuinely enjoying my life although it sometimes feels like I'm spreading myself too thin. I'm indulging in hobbies (drumming and filmmaking specifically) and enjoying the company of family and friends whenever I can. Pretty generic, eh? Well let's read on and see if we can't learn a bit more.
What I’m doing with my life
Finding a pretty good balance between being a "responsible, upstanding citizen" and "being a freewheeling creative spirit." I have a "day job" which is really more of an "evening job" since I work second shift by choice. I work for an airline, and while I don't fly as part of my job, I do fly as a *perk* of my job. My most recent trip was to Brussels which I enjoyed, and I'm thinking Australia or China next.

In my spare time, I make movies. Or rather, I am making *a* movie. I'm hoping to shoot my first feature-length movie in the coming weeks. It will be a pro-science educational film for teachers to show in their classes and spark discussions about evolution, the scientific method, etc. After that I'll start working on a more character-driven piece. Any screenwriters out there? Let's talk.
I’m really good at
Making plans and organizing people around those plans. My day job requires me to get a large group of people focused on a single task in a hurry, and my role as film director involves much the same thing. I feel like I'm herding cats most of the time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm surprisingly quiet or surprisingly outgoing depending on the situation at hand. I don't particularly like to "go out," but I love hosting parties, and I'm pretty good at keeping conversation flowing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I enjoy reading historical nonfiction - although I'll confess to having gotten halfway through two Ron Chernow books before giving in to brain mushiness. I aspire to be a filmmaker, so I'll watch any kind of movie that has half a brain. I don't watch much TV, but I'm a huge MST3k fan. Music I'm not too picky about, but it'll take me a while before I become a "fan" of some new artist...and I hate the crap they play at my gym. Food...yes.
Six things I could never do without
1) Some means of recording visual images.
2) Some means of recording audio frequencies.
3) A group of dedicated people focused on a common goal.
4) The ability to set my own ego aside (on very rare occasions) and focus on the end result.
5) My principles.
6) Forgiveness.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I want to travel next. What sort of movies I want to make. At what point I will think "I'm a good drummer."
On a typical Friday night I am
Any one of a number of places. Home, Emporium, a Meetup, a date, traveling, you name it. I work every other weekend, but the weekends I don't work are four-day weekends. Pretty sweet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty much an open book. They say "be yourself"...well, okay, here goes. I'm looking for the whole package - a long-term monogamous relationship, marriage, kids, a nice house, etc. But the devil's in the details, of course. My ideal woman is intelligent (which may or may not include a college education), is passionate about *something* (social justice, freedom from religion, fiscal responsibility at all levels of government, you name it), has a healthy maternal drive, is sexually submissive (although we can discuss that later - I don't want a relationship just based on that commonality), enjoys a good workout, enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, is energetic but knows to stop and smell the roses often, and is past her "let's hang out in a loud crowded bar" phase.
You should message me if're interested in meeting a kind, intuitive, self-aware, flawed, assertive, well-traveled, politically-half-correct, musically-inclined, scientifically-minded, astronomically-wishful, gastronomically-tasteful, poetically-playful, and all-around decent fellow.
The two of us
