My self-summary
I'm a programmer and entrepreneur. During my bachelor times I got degrees in everything that I thought was interesting, specifically environmental studies, geography, and linguistics at the University of Washington. Here in Utrecht I got a master's in urban planning at Utrecht University. I've lived about half of my life in the Netherlands, half in the Seattle area in the United States. Perhaps someday I will spend a little time living in a third country (my friend has invited me to live in his guest bedroom in Bucharest..).

I really like bouldering, it's a great workout and a bunch of fun puzzles. I'm also doing a lot of running (my climbing group has apparently turned into my running group). I also like biking and I'm sometimes pretty damn good at bowling and pool. Sometimes.

Last year I visited my sister in Thailand and Vietnam. That was a great experience. I also no longer have the need to ride night buses. Four times (also once in Hungary) is enough for me to learn my lesson :p I think my favorite city is New York. There is so much to do, and so many beautiful buildings, and a huge park right in the middle(ish). In Europe I really liked the long weekend in Oslo. We had absolutely no money (the last day I split a burger from McDondald's with a friend) but had a great time with all the beautiful autumn colors and free museums. Someday I want to go back and explore the fjords.

The personality section has a big list of adjectives that describe me pretty well. Compassionate, friendly, rational, confident, ambitious I definitely agree with. I don't know when I became suave though. Maybe that'll kick in soon. INTJ for the fans of personality tests.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I generally read books of the science fiction, fantasy, and non-fiction of the political/historical variety.

I like smart science fiction (The Matrix) and touching dramas (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Her, Stranger Than Fiction), or just any movie that has a unique perspective (Fight Club). Sometimes a comedy. I like going to the sneak every week to get a nice mix of movies :)

I mostly watch comedy shows like Whose Line is it Anyway?, Parks and Recreation, Community, and How I Met Your Mother. Breaking Bad was awesome. I also watch House of Cards and Game of Thrones with friends. I'm currently binge watching Girls.

I like a little bit of a lot of stuff. This year I discovered The National, it's amazing. I've gone to see Muse twice, great stuff. I used to really like Rammstein, Infected Mushroom, and VNV Nation. And Yann Tiersen is beautiful.

I don't have much time for gaming, but I recently rediscovered Age of Empires. That's a fun nostalgia trip. When I was young I played MS-Dos games and computer games with my dad.

Mexican food is amazing. My dad makes the best tandoori. One of my childhood nicknames was the great pasta boy.
