My self-summary
I was once asked to liken myself to a sandwich. Originally, I was going to say the PB&J--reliable, classic, and faithful. Then I decided that the Monte Carlo better fit me--eccentric, amazing, and extremely bad for you.

I'm a graduate student in publishing and have a BA in Creative Writing. But don't let that fool you. I have a dangerous love of sharks that will most likely get me killed, and a penchant for logic that will force you to rethink your perspective on life.

I'm tactlessly blunt, which gets me into trouble often, and I have no filter, which gets me into significantly more trouble, especially when the two combine. Luckily, this means that while you can try to make me uncomfortable, you'll most likely fail. I'll talk about anything and have an opinion you probably don't agree with. Don't worry, it's unlikely you can change mine, and I won't even attempt to change yours. Compound these for stimulating, enlightening conversations, and I can think of few things I enjoy more.

Let's just go with it, shall we?
What I’m doing with my life
I work part-time as a bartender in a sports bar and full-time as a student. This means I don't have much spare time.

I have myriad hobbies ranging from sitting on my ass to running around. I'm perfectly content spending the weekend in my room playing video games and watching movies or reading. At the same time, I won't turn down the opportunity to get out and cruise around. I'll rock climb, horseback ride, play recreational sports (badly), scuba dive, or just see how high I can go on the swing set at the local park.

I live by a go-with-the-flow mentality, and am not afraid to take on something new.
I’m really good at
Sitting, standing, doing nothing, and doing something. Sometimes all four. Simultaneously.

I'll kick your ass in Mario Kart and fail not-so-gracefully at Super Smash Brothers. But I'll do it all with a smile.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. Bright blue and fairly large. You can thank my English heritage, but I'm used to the compliment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Almost anything in the young adult fiction genre, though I'm partial to Maggie Stiefvater, Becca Fitzpatrick, and Brenna Yovanoff. Nonfiction on occasion and fairy tales of any sort. Fantasy, smut romance, and philosophy or religion. Comic books, but usually graphic novels (Watchmen, The Walking Dead, and V for Vendetta). Classic literature like Frankenstein. Read Grimm's "The Death of the Hen," and you'll understand much about me.

Movies: Jaws, Howl's Moving Castle and Nausicaa, Repo! The Genetic Opera and Saw, Love Actually and The Holiday, classic Disney and romantic comedies. I'm not too picky, though I have problems watching horror.

Shows: Game of Thrones, New Girl, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. I tend toward crime or fantasy. So long as a show has excellent characterization, I'll like it.

Music: Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Kaizers Orchestra. Carmina Burana, William Tell Overture, 1812 Overture, the Anvil Chorus from Il Travatore. Musical, pop, 8-bit, alternative, and Eminem.

Food: Japanese, Italian, American, and BBQ. I have trouble with seafood and spicy food, but I'll give anything a try.
The six things I could never do without
Oxygen, water, the sun, and food. Music and a good book.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever book I'm currently engrossed in, and how I should probably take a break at some point.
On a typical Friday night I am
Catching up on the latest episodes. I spend a lot of my time away from home, so it's nice to relax. But I won't turn down a trip to the bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not an extremely private person. Some people find that a problem. If I were to admit something here, it would be that I once was so frightened by the movie "The Mummy," that I couldn't sleep the night and had nightmares for a week.
