My self-summary
An optimist, I'm playful, ambitious and care about doing both well and good in the world. Family is a priority. Nurturing and naughty might be an apt description of me right now.

Nature is a refuge from the intensity of my work, which I love. Dancing and long bike rides also bring me joy. And spontaneously making up bad folk songs.

I love exploring cities on foot or bike. Interested in shamanism and the Economist.

Ive journeyed across the globe, including living two years in a small village on the edge of the Sahara during the Peace Corps. My 20-something idealism is alive and well, but tempered with greater compassion and pragmatism.

Lionel Richie, says it best: "Hello? Is it you I'm looking for?"
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying the ride and challenging myself.

I've channeled my creativity into creating urban places: developing well-designed housing and launching a non-profit that greens neighborhoods.

I relish being physical (running, cycling, yoga, climbing). And napping on weekends, when I get the chance.

To quote Mary Oliver:
When it's over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.
I’m really good at
Being strong & vulnerable. Dancing. Story-telling. Making my friends laugh. Leading complex projects. Listening. Seeing the forest for the trees. Learning from mistakes. Cooking a decent meal. Cleaning the dishes. Laughing with my sister on the phone.
The first things people usually notice about me
Enthusiasm, openness and intensity. My humor lurks just beneath the surface, irreverent & silly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A voracious reader of news, especially online political journals, I also have an expanding collection of poetry; Mary Oliver & David Whyte top my list. I love the New Yorker. Ever since middle school I've harbored a geeky love of fantasy, especially Tolkein. Pema Chodron is one of my favorite spiritual writers, along with Wendel Berry.

TV: I don't own one, but have fallen into temporary obsessions with The Wire, Mad Men & Game of Thrones. For laughs, nothing beats The Daily Show or South Park. I can't get enough of Game of Thrones. Winter is coming.

Music: I love it too much! (Is that possible?). One sweet spot is alt-folk-indie stuff, especially Gillian Welch, Vetiver, Wilco, The Avett Brothers, Ray LaMontange, the XX, Fruit Bats, Black Keys and M Ward. I love dancing to break-beats (Pink Mammoth, Green Gorilla, BrassTax), Afrobeat (Fela!), neo-soul (d'Angelo & Anthony Hamilton top the list) 70s funk and soul (Stevie, JB, Curtis, Sly & Al). And oh yes: chamber music and anything with cellos, especially Zoe Keating.

Food: I love eating & cooking SLO (seasonal, local & organic), but reserve the right to indulge in Popeye's fried chicken when certain dark urges arise. Californian-inspired French food is probably my favorite, closely followed by Japanese.
Six things I could never do without
• silliness
• high sierra star-filled skies or sun-drenched meadows
• music & dancing
• jersey cotton bedsheets
• friends & family
• authenticity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the balance between loving what I have & creating what I desire... & finding the perfect cappuccino
On a typical Friday night I am
over-scheduled or taking a break
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know most of the songs in the Sound of Music
You should message me if
You are compassionate and confident, perhaps a bit magical... maybe share a passion for the wilderness but can enjoy the occasional black-tie, love being active & are looking for a solid partnership that can lead to family.
