My self-summary
Hello! I'm a nerdy, artsy, outdoorsy type who loves a little adventure. I have a long-term boyfriend and I've been in San Diego for four years now. I'm looking for other weirdos to bring some more light into my life. I hope you say more than hi! 😝

I'm here for connections, not one time meetups!
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a graphic designer in the medical industry at the moment. One of the best parts of my job (besides being able to do art for a living!) is that I am able to work in different fields. You end up learning about many different things this way. And I love learning! You should too!
I’m really good at
Photoshop, putting up a tent in the dark, and the Cheese Bridge in Super Mario World.
The first things people usually notice about me
Sometimes people think I am intimidating, but soon learn that I am very silly. Other times people think I am very shy and then laugh about that later too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: Everything by Craig Thompson, Julia Sweeney, and Mary Roach. Bossypants, The Art of Asking, Born A Crime (it would be a crime if you don’t listen to the last two on audio, trust me!), Sex Criminals, Oh Joy Sex Toy, Saga, Scott Pilgrim, The People of Paper, Brave New World, Clown Girl, It Chooses You, The Cheese Monkeys, Come As You Are, The Ethical Slut, Paper Towns, CAD Monkeys, Dinosaur Babies, and T-Shaped People. I’m also really into nonfiction, lately being books about health, psychology, sociology, and books about things you never thought there would be a book about.

Check out my Goodreads.

MOVIES: I love most genres of movies and my favorites are always changing. Here is a list of movies I like that you can use to judge whether or not I should be your friend: Adaptation, La La Land, Whiplash, Better Off Dead, It’s All Gone Pete Tong, Amelie, Her, The Stories We Tell, Drive, The Interrupters, The Future, Annie Hall, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Old Boy, King of Kong, What Dreams May Come, Inside Out, pretty much all of Miyazaki, Dr. Horrible, World’s Greatest Dad (cheesy title to an amazingly dark comedy), Little Miss Sunshine, Django Unchained, The Shawshank Redemption, and Airplane! I really like watching documentaries about EVERYTHING.

SHOWS: I don’t have cable but shows are so much better nowadays. Master of None, House of Cards, Arrested Development, Bojack Horseman, Jane the Virgin, Rick & Morty, Stranger Things, Insecure, Dexter, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Californication, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Strangers with Candy, Samurai Champloo, Breaking Bad, Girls, and are wonderful.

MUSIC: Currently, I like Amanda Palmer, Lucius, Chromeo, Ramona Falls, Dessa, Foo Fighters, Rhymefest, No Doubt, Hot Chip, Menomena, Moonhooch, Odesza, Eels, The Cool Kids, Marian Hill, The Weakerthans, Peter Bjorn & John, Lit, LMFAO, Rae Morris, The Long Winters, EL VY, Cake, Marian Hill, Miss Li, Sufjan Stevens, Childish Gambino, Flaming Lips, Ween, Plus/Minus, The Working Title, Röyksopp, Fallulah, Oh Land, They Might Be Giants, St. Vincent, Grandaddy, Kanye West, Courtney Barnett, Queen, Billy Joel, Indigo Swing, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Bublé, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Casey MacGill & the Spirits of Rhythm, Eddie Rabbitt.

FOOD: I LOVE food. If I don’t like something now, I make sure to try it again one day. I've even been trying sushi lately... I didn’t grow up near the ocean so eating fish was not something I did regularly as a kid.

VIDEO GAMES: Pretty much all the old and new Super Mario and Donkey Kong games, Portal, Half-Life, Bioshock (Infinite!), MarioKart, Zelda (yes I am loving BotW) Windwaker and Skyward Sword, (working on the old ones now), Pikmin (will anyone please play Pikmin Bingo with me?), Child of Light, Kentucky Route Zero, Braid, The Witness, Professor Layton, Splatoon!, Fire & the Flood. Love to play indie games!!

Also, I’ve really been enjoying videos by the School of Life and Alain de Botton. They are like mini psychotherapy sessions and talks about life, love, work, education, etc that are just beautifully made. Let me know your favorite!
Six things I could never do without
I like to think that being addicted to anything probably isn't good. I don't ever want to feel dependent on something, but I really don't wanna go without coffee and chapstick. I also really love a good book, some me-time, and fun experiences with friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- The meaning of quality...

- How people don't think past prejudices affect present views

- How to travel more when you don't have money

- Daydreaming about getting away from my computer, going camping, or becoming a carpenter

- Why I need to explain to someone why feminists actually like men

- Why Dave Grohl wrote The Best.
On a typical Friday night I am
- Swing dancing or Blues Dancing

- currently trying kung fu

- playing Stardew Valley and slightly resenting my boyfriend for ever getting me hooked on it

- leaving work early to go to the beach (you might all be sick of the beach here, all you San Diegans, but they don't have this kind of beauty back east :P)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I spent a good majority of my life making sure I never felt vulnerable. I pushed myself past my comfort zones so that no one else would see my scared or lonely or be able to hurt me. Now I'm trying to open my heart to people and it's been rewarding 🙃

Also, here are some things you might not like about me (but I'm working on!):
- I'm not very punctual.
- I can sometimes be too pushy. (but I'm a great leader!)
- I'm blunt and "gross", all the things it's totally normal for a man to be 😜
You should message me if
you think I'm the cat's meow.
