The work I do, I do first for satisfaction, and secondly for money. I seek to follow my nature in ways that benefit the people and the world around me, as well as benefiting myself.
I'm active, fit, do enough running to be called a runner (it's my cosmic telephone,) but I stop to pet dogs, too. I kayak and sail, and generally enjoy messing about in boats and being on or near water. I'm comfortable keeping my own company, but relationships are most important, so I try to listen, pay attention to them, and try to nurture them with respect, honesty, and trust. I'm willing and able to express myself: my opinions, my aspirations, my dreams, my fears. I'll give you an answer if you ask "what are you thinking," and I won't necessarily wait to be asked to share what I'm feeling.
I'll be interested in what you have to say, in your sense of humor, in what you're feeling and doing. I'll support your dreams and aspirations. I'll celebrate and commiserate with you; work together or play together; share a quiet conversation, or a comfortable silence.
I'm still working with my hands and my heart, but now it's connecting with seniors. After spending three years working at an assisted living community, (It was heartwarming, uplifting, gratifying, horrifying, exhausting, and depressing -- all at the same time. Life is truly a circle.) I'm back to being self-employed, building a retirement career doing home maintenance with the intention to help seniors stay in their homes longer.
