I hate to use labels, but most people would consider me a geek. I like science fiction. I go to conventions and cosplay characters from Firefly, Doctor Who and The Avengers. I also get together with some friends and make short films. I've been learning quite a bit about the whole film making process and like to think I'm improving. I write, direct, act and edit. Many of the films we make we actually show to raise money for charity. So it's a fun hobby for a good cause.
But I hate labels because I have other interests that aren't neatly filed under the geek category. I like to go out and sing karaoke. I enjoy dancing. I work out on a regular basis. I actually like getting dressed up from time to time to go to a nice restaurant or event.
As for the regular stuff... I have a job, a car, a house and a cat.
I'm looking for fun people to spend time with. To have great conversations over sushi. To snuggle up on the couch and watch TV. Maybe play air hockey at Dave and Busters or walk around a flea market looking for odd items. Someone with whom I can experience things and the experience is better because of the company.
Well, that's all I have to say for the moment. Any questions, please feel free to ask.
Grilling burgers and dogs
Opening doors (usually for my date, but will be polite for anyone)
Hosting parties and events
Movies: V for Vendetta, The Princess Bride, the Avengers, Hitch, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Star Wars, the Artist... my interests can vary, but sci-fi and adventures stand out.
TV shows: The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon a Time, Walking Dead, Doctor Who, True Blood, Sherlock and Castle. Past favorites have included Lost, Buffy, Angel, Dexter, Firefly, Psych, the Dead Zone, The West Wing... the list goes on.
My musical tastes tend to be rather plain... some pop, some rock, not really a rap fan, not big into country, though a few songs are clever.
Food... I love a good burger. But I also enjoy pizza, sushi, Chinese food and pancakes. I've been known to eat many different cuisines... Mexican, Vietnamese, Indian... I'm willing to try many types of foods. But you can't go wrong with a burger.
