My self-summary
I've got a lot of heart and it shows.

Originally from Texas. I'm adventurous and political. A bit of a smart ass. Often funny. Sometimes a smartypants. Sometimes serious. A little bit punk rock & a little bit country. Much fun.

I'm an environmental organizer. I've worked in different parts of the world on issues ranging from human rights to climate change to forest defense. It has given me a huge global family that I have really come to love and cherish.

I like being outside whether it's wandering around the city, trekking further out in the wilderness or spending time in a park. In my leisure time, I go running, hike, camp, travel, read, watch movies and write. (I realize that most everyone puts at least 6 out of 7 of these activities down on their profiles.)

I hate sitting around too much. I keep myself pretty busy with one thing or another. Or exploring wherever I happen to be that day. I am very independent, but also like people. But, alone time and slacking off is nice as well.

I travel. I backpacked through Southeast Asia for two and half months in 2011. Traveled in Australia, Europe and Latin America. I just spent New Year's 2017 on a great trip to Baja and the Sea of Cortez where I swam with Sea Lions and Whale Sharks.. I've been to most U.S. states. South Africa, Ireland and Turkey are still on my bucket list to visit. I love going places abroad and domestic. I love sunshine, whether it's hot days near bodies of water or chilly days bundled up outside a coffee shop reading.

I'm also usually pretty light and a bit silly (although my humor can be a bit dry, irreverent, sarcastic and ironical). I like to laugh, especially at myself, even better when others do it. I appreciate it. It keeps things honest.

One last thing. I'm looking for a LTR. But, I'm out of one not too long ago. For many years, I've been figuring out authenticity, and how to bring my deepest wisest self to a relationship. I'm moving towards the next relationship, not with caution, just with an understanding of what I want and need based on what I've already been through.
What I’m doing with my life
Campaigner and organizer with an environmental and human rights organization. More of an adventure than a job, it's lots of fighting pipelines and coal mining. I worked in corporate America for nine years and taught community college for six. Love my current work these days. Dream job if we get down to it. Being in corporate america helped hone my skills as an anti-corporate campaigner.
I’m really good at
writing (or at least so-so). teaching. networking. working well under pressure or in crisis situations.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. My smile (the pictures don't do it justice). What I'm talking about. (Sometimes I even sound like I know what I'm talking about.)

Six things I could never do without
"Never" is a strong word, but not in any sort of prioritized order:
1. music
2. body moving, hiking, running, dancing, etc.
3. intellectualy stimulation, i.e. something to read, watch or ponder
4. my people, friends, community, family
5. wit, dark (& light) humor, laughter, irony, a little bit of snarkiness
6. educating, organizing, agitating
I spend a lot of time thinking about
life. figuring out my stuff. authenticity. intimacy. my family. my friends. too much. resisting Trump era politics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Multiple options. Out with friends at happy hour. Seeing some live music. Catching a movie by myself. Or staying at home for a quiet evening with a movie or a book (typically with a cat asleep on me.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You'll need to ask in person.
You should message me if
You are honest. Adventurous. Political. Edgy. Authentic. A non-conformist. Passionate. Savvy. Funny. Can give and take a joke. Care about the environment and communities in it. Not unfamiliar with the term "fuck shit up." And deliver all of that in a sexy smart container.
The two of us
