My self-summary
I am a New Yorker who was accidentally born and raised in California. I love the mountains and wilderness, but I belong here. I love theatre, food, wine, music, art and, more importantly, discussing it all.

I am passionate about politics even though it drives me crazy. It can safely be said that I lean to the left. I believe that it is ok to split an infinitive. I am not religious, but am kind of obsessed with religion. I'm pretty sure that reading a Self-Summary on a dating site is the worst possible means of getting to know someone, but it's all we have, so we make due. Idealists are used to being disappointed.
What I’m doing with my life
Running my business. Getting away when I can. Seeking balance.
I’m really good at
Much of what I set my mind to being good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
Olive oil stains on my t-shirt.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Poisonwood Bible, Heart of Darkness, Cavalier & Clay, Motherless Brooklyn, High Fidelity, Color Purple, Invisible Man, Omnivore's Dilema, anything by Joan Didion...

Eternal Sunshine, Crimes & Misdemeanors, Before Night Falls, Sunset Blvd., Superbad, The Pianist, Hedwig, Broadcast News, Nashville, Election... I love movies. This list could go on forever.

I'm tired of everything on my ipod. Please introduce me to some good, new music. (That said, the old music of which I am tired: Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Prince, Kathleen Edwards, Magnetic Fields, Wilco, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Whiskeytown, Townes Van Zandt, Black Keys, Beck, Maria McKee, Beth Orton, Talking Heads, Radiohead, Patty Griffin, REM, anything Bluegrass, Newgrass or Brooklyngrass, Neil Finn (in any manifestation), Lyle Lovett, My Morning Jacket, Bon Iver, Joshua Bell, Edgar Meyer, Chris Whitley, Billy Joel, Allison Krauss, etc., etc.)

I really love food. A lot. All kinds. But there is a special place in my heart for Italian.
