My self-summary
I am a native of New York City. I like to wander, whether its the streets of NYC or deep in the forest. I have hiked up mountain peaks from Venezuela to Vietnam. I've explored ancient temples and pyramids from Bali to Guatemala. I've swam with sharks in the Galapagos Islands, hand fed pink river dolphins in the Brazilian Amazon and had an anaconda slip right through my hands in Bolivia. When not off on some adventure around the globe, I like going to museums, movies, concerts, sporting events, parks, green markets and ethnic restaurants.

I have two main goals in life, to travel to as many countries as possible and help as many animals and people as possible. And because I get asked this sometimes, my user name was inspired by the double helix that is deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in special investigations. Long hours, plenty of stress but I like being out in the field instead of stuck in an office. And I am planning a trip in this coming year to the rain forest of Guyana.
I’m really good at
Making friends with animals, science, geography, reading maps, finding my way around and I can run really fast. I am also stubborn enough to keep going even after life has crapped on me and it has, many times. I am still here though.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm white. Yeah, I helped you out with that one. And I am left handed. Only about 10% of the world's people are left handed. You can have fun watching me struggle to do all the things you right handed people can do so easily. Like using a Metrocard or swiping a credit card or just writing in a spiral notebook. And forget about power tools, I could lose my hand as they are all built for right handed people. Oh and a big dog can outweigh me.

So basically what we have here is classical, metal, a little classic rock and the blues.

Food: Fruits, vegetables, curry, laksa, dumplings, sea foods, noodles, pizza, popcorn, chocolate, big soft pretzels, berries, nuts and seeds. Everything from Indian to Moroccan, German to Thai, Korean to Peruvian and so on. I don't usually do fast food but I love Kati Roll.
The six things I could never do without
Animals, mountains, forests, fruits, a Kindle Fire and a passport.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Endangered species, climate change, control of the South China Sea, a free Palestine, beautiful but chaotic Venezuela, the insanity that is North Korea, economic development, how the powerful have screwed Syria and ignored Yemen, the curse of oil and other natural resources and what life is like on Native American reservations. And there is a spectacular waterfall deep in the jungles of Guyana and I must see it.

After 146 years, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is finally closing. They can't abuse my animal friends anymore. Not one more lion, not one more tiger, not one more elephant. We have the means to imprison and abuse animals but we do not have the right. Freedom isn't just for people.

Donald Trump and Steve Harvey met to discuss problems in America's inner cities. I have my doubts that two ignorant, racist, game show hosts that know nothing about science, know anything about life in America's inner cities.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably still working which happens way too often. I'd rather be out or even just home watching a hockey game or a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am shy at first. I have been on this site way too long and don't even remember why I joined.
You should message me if
you want to...then sing your song. And if you can teach me Mandarin or Japanese or Korean or some other Asian language that would be so nice too.
