My self-summary
I am a native of New York City. I like to wander, whether its the streets of NYC or deep in the forest. I have hiked up mountain peaks from Venezuela to Vietnam. I've explored ancient temples and pyramids from Bali to Guatemala. I've swam with sharks in the Galapagos Islands, hand fed pink river dolphins in the Brazilian Amazon and had an anaconda slip right through my hands in Bolivia. When not off on some adventure around the globe, I like going to museums, movies, concerts, sporting events, parks, green markets and ethnic restaurants. I have two main goals in life, to travel to as many countries as possible and help as many animals and people as possible.

I have two big goals in life, to travel to as many countries as possible and help as many animals and people as possible before my time is up. Oh and my user name was inspired by the double helix of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
What I’m doing with my life
I work in special investigations.. Long hours, demanding deadlines and plenty of pressure but most days I actually like my job. And I am probably editing this stupid profile. It is an obsession and I know it is way too long. Help me.
I’m really good at
Making friends with animals, science, geography, reading maps, finding my way around and I can run really fast. And I have good endurance and balance for long treks or I would have died long ago.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm white. I helped you out with that one. And I am left handed. Only about 10% of the world's people are left handed. You can have fun watching me struggle to do all the things you right handed people can do so easily.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Movies: Jaws, The Killing Fields, Rabbit Proof Fence, The Motor Cycle Diaries, Blackfish, Casino Royale, Skyfall, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit Trilogy, Why We Fight, The Fog of War, Bowling For Columbine, Where To Invade Next, The Host (the Korean film), Let Me In, Let The Right One In, The Cove, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Clerks.

TV: Nature, Frontline, Globe Trekker, River Monsters, Man vs Wild, Running Wild With Bear Grylls, Survivorman, The Big Bang Theory, The Last Man On Earth, The Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, Real Time, Vice, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Last Week Tonight and every nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough.

So basically what we have here is classical, metal, a little classic rock and the blues.

Food: Fruits, vegetables, curry, laksa, dumplings, sea foods, noodles, pizza (Hey, I am a native of NYC after all), popcorn, chocolate, big soft pretzels, berries, nuts and seeds. Everything from Indian to Moroccan, German to Thai, Korean to Peruvian and so on. I don't usually do fast food but I love Kati Roll.
The six things I could never do without
Animals, mountains, forests, fruits, a Kindle Fire and a passport.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Endangered species, climate change, control of the South China Sea, a free Palestine, beautiful but chaotic Venezuela, an end to Colombia's war, the insanity that is North Korea, economic development, poor Syria, fake news, the curse of oil and other natural resources and what life is like on Native American reservations. And there is a spectacular waterfall deep in the jungles of Guyana and I must see it.

If you are an American, I don't care who you voted for or even if you voted in the first place. In the end, it means little. And while flag burning is legal in the USA despite Mr. Trump's words, that doesn't mean you won't get your ass kicked by some angry patriotic person. Be careful with how you display your activism. Remember how easily fists, knives and even bullets fly in this country.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably still working which happens way too often. I'd rather be out or even just home watching a hockey game or a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am shy at first but that is probably because most people are awful creatures and they are best avoided anyway.
You should message me if
you want to...then sing your song. I am not going to list rules for who can and who can't message me. Just don't be an asshole.
